2019 Honda Fit - The Price You Paid Thread
I just picked up my new 2019 Honda Fit LX CVT white (no Honda or dealer options other than what came at the factory for model number GK5H4). I paid 16478 as the total MSRP (including $930 delivery) with an out the door OTD price of $18109 (that included state sales tax, title, dealer fees/registration, licensing, tabs, and state auto inspection sticka). There are better deals ~ $284 average price less in the MidWest USA in cities like Toledo, OH. I worked a deal between two dealers (New England and Toledo, OH) and it was less costly to purchase it close by (no OW ticket and gas cost to travel back 700 miles) and pay the $284 upcharge. Fit LX CVTs are getting rarer at dealers with dealers having only 1 or 2 base LX CVTs in stock. No MT and apparently Honda dealers are not able to order Fit MTs any longer.
I too had a full tank of gas - that's Honda's policy now for a while. New England is quite competitive for economical cars and that drives demand and the cost. Like I said several dealers (in calling and negotiating) were on average $284 less in the Midwest centered around Toledo, OH than the NE area dealers (n=7; been negotiating since May 2019). I picked Toledo for selfish reasons - visit friends in the area (and home of Jeep).
As of Saturday BAM I'm Back in the cool kids club with a 2019 Fit Sport M/T in white. First brand new car in 10 years! And my last new car was a white 08 Fit ironically. Already drove to big bear and back, and on the way in to work this morning I practically enjoyed traffic while listening to podcasts and having my phone drive navigation through carplay. Dog seems to like it way better than my 03 wrx and he proved it by drooling all over the screen. Plus averaging 41mpg right off the bat! Subaru I was pulling 18.5 mpg on premium... With my commute this car will save me $1,400+ a year in fuel. Between that and frequent maintenance and higher insurance on the WRX this car will almost pay for itself.
Got it for $16,700 + taxes and reg, (18,400 OTD), no bs, no up selling (except the stupid Karr alarm that I didn't want or get). Goudy Honda in Alhambra, CA, made the whole experience a pleasure and I usually HATE the car buying process. I would 100% buy another car from them in the future. They treated me like a human and respected my time and my concerns. I think I got a pretty good deal on the exact car I wanted. Overall I'm extremely happy with my purchase.
The sport is everything I wanted and nothing I don't. And god the steering wheel in the LX and EX... How does anyone tolerate that garbage?
I was cross shopping a CPO 2018 Sport in silver (I honestly dislike the silver but I was struggling to find a sport MT in my price range locally) at Honda World Westminster CA with 15k miles and almost signed the check for $15,750 (listed for $16,995) when the dealer kept me waiting around with zero progress on the sale for an entire hour. After I walked out they called me once acting like I was the bad guy for walking out and my email to the manager was ignored so I decided they will never see a dime from me. There's something weird about that car too. Driver door alignment is slightly off and I'm convinced they weren't telling me something...
Can't wait to personalize it a little bit. Need to figure out a bike rack solution asap... Tint appointment scheduled Thursday morning.

Japanese domestic market. $17,100 including everything price for a silver 13GL Sensing CVT. The trim level is the higher of the two they offer here - it's somewhere between LX and EX I think.. No tire sensors but navigation, FM/AM radio, bluetooth and TV (Yikes!). Steel wheels and smaller engine. Keyless, fog lights, climate control. Less than quarter of a tank of fuel.
Had a 2002 GD1 prior and loved it. This car is a lot quieter and smoother. Just better all round - except for the acceleration - it's OK but that's all you can say.
