Covered in a previous post. HCF2 is the Honda CVT fluid specified.

According to Castrol their CVT fluid is "suitable for use in all of Honda CVTs except 2001-2007 Model Honda Fit/Jazz which are equipped with Starting Clutch." Says it meets Honda HCF-2 specs.

Valvoline claims are here.

Valvoline says it meets Honda's HCF-2 specs as well as Honda's HMMF specs.

Any comments?

Valvoline is about 1/2 the price of Honda branded HCF-2 fluid.

If I recall correctly, label on Honda branded HCF-2 fluid says it also meets HMMF specs, so perhaps the Castrol should be suitble for cars that require HMMF as well as HCF-2.

I'd reckon you'd need around 4 litres. For the hot Asian climate, I'd recommend a shorter service interval especially if you do long, intense drive often and lack a CVT cooler. I did mine every 24,000 km over the OEM recommended 40,000 km in my country

As for choice of CVTF, I was on Millermatic ATF CVT.

Yes 0W16 is certified by Honda for use in the GK Fit. Would I - no. I'll use the heaviest high temperature weight (the 20 in 0W20) that I can while in warranty. After that I'll likely move to 5W30 or 5W40 for Summer use and 0W20 or 0W30 for New England Winter use.

Believe it or not, Japan is already using 0W8 in cars and I'm sure the US EPA is drooling at the 0.05% boost in MPG (remember they don't care about engine longevity). 0W16 has been used for about 17 years in JP cars. ENEOS claims a 2% improvement in fuel economy (0.7 MPG on your Fit using average city/hwy) when switching from 0W20 to 0W16. However I don't hear that they have conclusive decades-long wear data. They say it's OK but have no data to back it up. I'll suck up the loss of .7 MPG in my Fit for 17 years of ownership and use 0W20-40 oils.

https://www.noln.net/articles/2277-t...y-on-ow-16-oil (note they used a Fit to collect MPG data)

as always YMMV.

I created this info sheet to keep in my car since many of the items I cannot seem to find when I go into an auto parts store.

I have a copy in my phone as well.
