honda fit driver seat shakes
honda fit driver seat shakes
Howdy everyone here..I’m new to my 2016 Honda Fit ex trim. I’ve noticed my driver seat shakes when waiting on a stop light with my foot on the brake. But when I let go the brake and hit the gas a little the shaking goes away and if the climate is on the shaking never occurr. Anyone ever experienced this before or just me? thanks In advance

I assume you have a AT and that your seat is "locked into" a specific setting on the rail (meaning that it will not move front or back). What's your idle speed and is it stable?
If the idle speed doesn't fluctuate much, plug in a OBD-II reader and let us know what our ST and LT fuel trims are. I suspect that if your engine air filter is clean and you have no CEL check engine lights, then your:
- MAF needs to be cleaned with MAF cleaner and
- vacuum leaks in the air box/manifold after the MAF and before the engine

I need a better understanding of what you mean by your drivers seat shakes.
It's an inert object so it can't "shake" unless it is being shook. If you don't feel your vehicle is vibrating or shaking too much at idle? Then the first test I would do, would be when the vehicle is parked, shut off. physically grasp your drivers seat and shake it. -Not violently this is just a test.
Does it move? Is it loose?
If it moves then it has to be the bolts securing the seat to the vehicle that are loose. Well I should say "probably" there could be damage to the rail, etc....If it's loose I'd have the dealership check it.
If you are idling rough, that's really a different problem than your drivers seat is shaking. That's your vehicle is idling rough and shaking. At that point, then you're going to have to start investigating why your vehicle is shaking....not your seat.
If you are lucky? It is as easy as the seat hasn't clicked onto the rail. Make sure the seat is positioned and locked.

With the gear selector in Drive, the car will want to inch forward unless the brake is applied. So putting your foot on the brake is stopping the car from moving forward. It does not necessarily stop the car from moving entirely, as the engine is still pushing against the brakes. So you're feeling the normal push of the engine against the brakes, which results in a vibrating sensation. That energy has to go somewhere.
Not sure what the reference to climate control in this scenario means. If you have the A/C on, the engine idle speed will be higher than with it off, so that might change things around a bit as far as the frequency of the vibration.
