Where is the vin number on the hood?

Where is the vin number on the hood?
We just purchased a certified used 2018 Fit and I can't seem to find the vin # on the hood. Where is it located?

The VIN is a unique number assigned to the vehicle. It would not be on the hood since it is a replaceable item. Find it at the bottom of windshield, the driver's side.

It should still have the vin# sticker on it. The car probably was involved in an accident and it was replaced.

My 2015 I bought new has no VIN on the hood. It's in a few other places instead.

If the junk yard transfers a good hood with the VIN undamaged to another Fit, then which VIN is the correct one? The one behind the driver's side windshield or the one on the hood?

The one on the near the windshield as that's not getting moved around. I think they are stamping VINs other places to track parts when a car is stolen and separated for parts.

The one on the plate inside on the dash near the driver (and the ones stamped to the engine and tranny) are the official ones. Some states verify engine/frame VINs when titled.

The VIN on the hood is on a sticky, which can be easily be removed. It can add to confusion if a hood is replaced from a salvage yard. It shouldn't be there in the first place.

My 2019 is the same - a black sticker with laser etch printing (text appears white)
