2017 Fit CEL, VSA, EPS, TPMS all on!

Hello,

Wife drives a 2017 Fit. It’s a 6MT with 60,000 miles. We’ve owned since new, performed every scheduled maintenance ahead of schedule, 5000mi OCI with Mobil 1 full synthetic and wix filters, wix air filter every other oil change, and only fill it with top tier gas. Her commute is 25ish miles each direction with only two stop signs. The car definitely gets up to temp and sees spirited driving to make it up the steep grades here.

A few weeks ago we had the check engine light, a flashing (for a minute) then solid TPMS, the vehicle stability assist light and electric power steering light all come on at once. I pulled the codes for the CEL and got P0302. So I ordered new NGK plugs and Hitatchi Coils. In the meantime, I switched #2 and #1 plugs and switched #2 and #3 coils in an attempt to get the code to follow to another cylinder. I also ran a dry compression test and got ~150psi from all four. This was all testing related to the CEL. Finally, I ran the full CRC GDI cleaning kit (comes in a kit with PEA cleaner, gas tank treatment, MAF cleaner, throttle body cleaner, etc.)

In an attempt to figure out the other lights that all popped on at the same time I checked the fusable links and fuses related to the Electric Power Steering as I’ve heard of these failing in other Honda products. Then I checked battery voltage with engine off (12.67vdc) and with engine on with wipers, headlights, radio and blower motor at full blast (14.4vdc). Then check resistance in ground path. Everything checked out. Also cleaned battery leads/connections, but they were already fairly clean.

After resetting the codes, I told my wife to drive it like her CRX with no power steering (tight grip on the wheel) for the next week or so to see if any lights popped back up. All the lights came back on yesterday. The CEL is still P0302–which would indicate the #2 injector, if I can trust any of these lights. The car seems to drive fine, no real detectable miss. Maybe hook a oscilloscope to it to see any glitches, but again the offending electronic parts should have migrated the code to another cylinder.

Any guesses? I’m kind of stumped. We don’t want to take it to a shop, end up with a big bill and a tarnished car fax report when we go to trade it in or sell it.

Non-educated guess, but from reading other posts on here, sounds like it's time for fuel injector replacements....sorry, hope I'm wrong...

Agreed, look up the fuel injector threads but it sounds very similar.

I’ll be performing the injector change myself. For those of you who’ve done this service or have read about it, what brand injectors are recommended? There is a seller on America’s popular bidding website that has Keihin injectors for about $30/each. Are these the OEMs?

Thanks!

I entered the following into a google search box:

"2017 honda fit oem injectors"

the 1st result was from hondapartsnow

assuming you have a MY2017, you'll probably need to refer to:$678.24
Honda Part No.: 16010-5R1-315
Injector Set, Fuel

if that website you're looking at has a PN made by "Keihin" that matches what hondapartsnow has, and at $30 a pop.... you probably have found a winner.

TL;DR = google is your friend
