07 Cruise Control Puzzle

Hi all, allow me to introduce myself as a new member of FitFreak. I've just become a new to me owner of a 2007 Fit. It was a bargain, but it's certainly come with a few things needing attention. I'm looking forward to using this forum to help me get it back up to (or as close as possible) to full operating condition.

First Up!

Cruise Control-- pressing the cruise button does not turn on the Cruise Main dash light, nor does it engage cruise control. HOWEVER, if I turn the steering wheel 1/4 turn counter-clockwise, the Cruise Main dash light will turn on. The light will not turn on with a clockwise turn, only counter. I checked fuses before I found the wheel phenomenon-- they're good. Any ideas as to where to start? Anyone have the same issue?

Apologies if it's been resolved, I've used the search function on this forum, but I can't seem to get it to return relevant results.

Thanks,
Acadie.

I haven't heard of the Fit having this issue, but sounds like the steering wheel clock spring. Here's a used one on ebay, don't know if it's any good, junk yard might be cheaper.

I have a similar cruise control problem, was going to replace the actual button assembly on the steering wheel when rockauto gets those back in stock. (Don't want to pay honda price and shipping)
