2019 Fit recall - faulty fuel pumps
Thanks for the info! I went to https://owners.honda.com/service-maintenance/recalls and put in my VIN. Luckily, mine doesn't need to be replaced.
just checked the honda website , looks like my '19 LX is part of the recall . probably not that big of a job , the pump is accessed from under the console .
but i still hate the idea of having the car serviced at a dealership , or anywhere .

From the NHTSA website:
The recall population was determined based on manufacturing records and supplier part production records. The manufacturing range reflects all possible vehicles that could potentially experience the problem. Vehicles being recalled are equipped with fuel pump modules containing impellers produced during specific periods under specific circumstances (lower density impellers exposed to production solvent drying for longer periods of time). Similar vehicles not included in the recall are equipped with fuel pump modules that were not subject to the above conditions. The number of affected units is 9,294. Production Dates : APR 27, 2018 - DEC 21, 2018

My first post!
I had the fuel pump recall service done on 2020-12-02. They had my super rare (*) Fit for almost perfectly 3 hours. I bet it wasn't high priority for them (recall services never are), but me walking around in their parking lot for an hour probably annoyed them enough to get on it.
My Fit had the hesitation problem since the beginning, similar to the experiences posted in this thread:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/3rd-...cond-gear.html
But it's gone. I don't know if they did idle relearn after replacing the fuel pump. I saw no indication of such in the worksheet.
The emissions check ready status for the fuel pump was FALSE after I got the car back, until I drove around a bit. I used the BlueDriver OBD-2 tool to check, so they definitely did something with the fuel pump (as they should). Don't try to get an emissions check (SMOG, etc.) right after the recall service.
(*) The only Fits with manual transmission + Honda-Sensing combination were 2018 and 2019 EX manual. Pre-2018 didn't have Honda-Sensing, and manual transmission was dropped for 2020 model year EX trim. Assuming 2% take rate for manual transmissions, and 70k Fits sold in the US for 2018 and 2019, only 1400 would be manual. Almost all of them would have been LX and Sport trims. Guessing 2% EX trim, that would be 28, in the entire US. Also, Canada never got the manual transmission + Honda-Sensing combination.
