Talking New Fit Freak! I know it's not fast, but can I at least get a little more torque?

Hear me out, I know all too well that Fits are not fast and honestly I'm not looking to make mine fast. I intend to use it for family trips (me, my lady, and my pups / luggage on top). I live in Northern Alabama (lots of hills) and boy does the Fit hate hills. My question is what should I begin with as far as mods for, dare I say, speed? I have a 2010 Base Fit by the way. I am a stance guy too but not slammed lol I say that to say I'll probably lower a little, get some wider wheels/gloves. Ski box on top. Welcome all recommendations for a good looking, comfortable ride! FIT FREAK

There are ways to tickle some more power from Fit engine, but that won't make the difference on hills and if the vehicle is heavily loaded. It is power/weight that actually matters. More efficient path to improve performance is to reduce weight and driving resistances. Some of your planned changes are counterproductive to performance, e.g. wider tyres (more rolling resistance) and ski box (more wind resistance). I would suggest selecting narrow, low rolling resistance tyres, remove all unnecessary tools and additional equipment from the vehicle and travel light regarding personal gear. For example if you never use the rear seat, remove it and leave it to your garage.

Fit/Jazz is a good example of that low-weight philosophy, it is relatively light for a modern car. That can be seen in use of light materials and for example in decision to leave out spare tyre (at least in European market area). But still, due to all safety/comfort bells and whistles it's more than 200 kg (440 lbs) heavier than same size cars in 80's.

Thanks for the replies. Definitely need to consider what I want to dedicate the car to and just make compromises.

Throttle controllers don't make actual power. They just change the throttle position. Like opening more at lower RPM's. You just getting more of the stock HP.

You actually need a throttle controller,,passing a lorry is difficult on stock form and could put you in danger, manuevering tight situations is better when your car response fast,,car in stock form plus 4 passengers and it is very sluggish and makes me worry while driving
Throttle controller is their solution to the disadvantage of drive by wire over drive by cable of the past that limits the car performance from its potential

Flat out is exactly the same flat out with or without throttle controller. And flat out you shall do when passing by a truck. As NWCH told, it does not make any power not the car any faster.

Flat out from with and without throttle controller has few seconds difference and crucial in passing, as with throttle controller, electric signal is doubled and forces the tb to open instantly while not using it will still follow small voltage before it wot, and youcant really give a useful side if you havent really tried and use a throttle controller,,most users are satisfied with their purchases.

I have done everything Santos has said:

Apexi Throttle controller.
Light Wheels
Air Filter

I can say you can feel the difference. The Throttle Controller is a lot of fun to really helps the Fit zip around much better.

Yes, I am sure those improve the fun factor. However, none of those helps climbing the hills of northern Alabama with a loaded car, which was the issue of the OP.
