Gen3 owners who have installed rear sway bars

I've read everything I could find on this forum about rear sway bars for the Fit. Most of the posts are from folks who own older Fits, so I haven't seen an answer to this specific question:

On a Gen3 Fit (mine is a 2018 Sport 6MT), does a rear sway bar like the Progress rsb improve handling in normal driving? Or is it really just something for people who track their cars? I'd like to reduce the body lean in corners, and I am a "sporting" driver, but I will not be tracking the car. Thanks!

I just installed Progress rear sway bars on my 2g and 3g Fit's. It helps in day to day driving. Reduces body roll in the rear.

A great value for the money. As far as mods go.

Thanks for the quick reply. No concerns about oversteer with the rsb installed?

I don't drive fast enough on the street to really get into trouble anymore, but before the rsb the car would understeer like crazy at low speed in the rain. Now it feels like a small tendency to understeer, and the difference in body roll is great. If I had to choose between rsb and stiffer springs/shocks, I'd go with the rsb and deal with the annoying dive under braking.

I have one on mine, and agree with what’s been said. Affordable, super easy install, and you’d be hardpressed to induce oversteer with it installed, it reduces the inherent under steering. There is one turn near me that when it’s raining, the car will oversteer slightly, but it’s due to it being a tight curve that’s at the top of a hill - the transition from climbing to descending is nearly instantaneous, and the car unweighted itself. In dry driving, it won’t oversteer

Thanks for the replies. I guess I've decided on my next mod! It looks like i could just back the car up onto ramps to install the rsb, since I don't have jack stands (not yet, anyway).

the progress rear sway bar does not fit right. multiple owners, including myself, have had the same problem. it impacts the bottom of the spare tire well over every single bump, making a terrible banging sound, and wearing the paint off of both. probably would eventually end up bending or breaking them.

i just took mine off last night, actually. after weeks of fighting with it trying to fix it.

so, if you really want it that bad, I'll sell it to you cheap

That's how I installed mine.

Like others said, for the price is a great mod. Don't expect it's going to change your car into a drift machine.

I remember reading some discussion about this in an earlier thread. What year is your Fit?

Good! I don’t want oversteer. I’m just looking to reduce lean. Honestly the car handles pretty great as is.

Other Gen3 owners, have you had this issue, and have you been able to resolve it?

same here. I guess the Progress tab is a no-go. That’s too bad, but I’m glad you warned me. Thanks.

My 2015 has had it installed since January 2016, maybe 60k miles at this point and no odd sounds it impacts.

maybe his particular car or rsb is out of spec

Thanks. I know Honda did a “refresh” for MY 2018 that claimed to include chassis stiffening. Perhaps they changed something underneath?

No such issues on my 2015. Must be a different shape rear beam on the newer cars, maybe worth reaching out to the company for help?

Do any other brands of rsb work on the 2018?

Seems the consensus is that the Progress rsb will not fit the 2018 Fit. Are there any other brands that do fit?

i think this is where theres part number 62.1063 and part number 62.1061. I think there was issues with the 1061 part which is why they created the 1063 part. I think... this is all conjecture.

for others, the second most common one I see is the Cusco part, which is a three piece. I personally don't like it aesthetically :/... but it looks like it is a good alternative.
