GD CVT Dead with no warning

I just lost my transmission at 168,000 with no warning (No slipping, No Codes). I'm a newbie here about to search for a rebuild or purchase of remanufactured transmission. Any suggestions that I should know of? Trying to avoid the "Wish I would have known that before I" Thanks for any help.

Where'd you get a CVT in the US?

Are you sure it isn't a rusted-through axle?

I was told by a transmission guy that my FIT had a CVT. I see through the forum that it is not. However, my extreme, profound, forever in your debt thank you... I went and I looked and sure enough, it was the right (passenger) axle that was broken. 80 bucks instead of possibly a couple thousand with a shady mechanic. Thank You!
