what is this hose under air filter assembly?

What is this and is it supposed to be connected to something? This is an automatic. I believe the hose is connected on one end to the transmission section of the engine.

This is a 2008 Fit Sport (I *think* it is a second generation based on FitFreak lingo)

My guess is this is some sort of drain tube.

That's your transmission vent. It's supposed to look like that, keeps condensation from building within. Under normal use any condensation that builds up will evaporate from the transmission fluid and vent through that tube.

Oh and to be picky (not like any of us here really give a toss) depending on where you bought your Fit dictates what sort of model it is. The GE (2ND gen) was available in Japan and Asian countries, where the north American second gen would be listed as a 2009 through 2013, or if you lived in Canada they got a 2014 where America didn't.

It's easy to check chassis code from VIN.
