Cheap Mods to make Base model fit faster
A base fit with the normal bot on parts are just as fast as a stock one. not exactly, but it is way closer than you would think. I say the Fit is grate with good tires because they let you get away with a lot and if you add power then you can't rip around town power shifting and still not even go over the speed limit.
I doubt any bolt-ons would make a noticable difference.
Since I did some research for my project, the simplest and cheapest thing that actually does something is probably a small AMR500 supercharger. Compared to a turbo you don't have to touch the exhaust or deal with oil lines and it might even be ok without an intercooler if the boost is low enough. At least on the GD it looks like it might even be possible to stick it in place of the AC compressor, which doesn't work on my car anyway. You'd still have to replace and tune an ECU though and in the end I didn't get into this.

If you stick a high-flow oiled K&N on it you can get a sweet CEL. Also, if you do intake, the ducting has to be OEM in diameter around the maf.
Zero1000 makes a sick intake. As the son of an AC guy I can say the ducting design looks promising anyways.
uhh. catback exhaust. tanabe medallion touring is a popular one.
when j's racing built a GE they focused on handling mods. same with superstreet/import tuner/whatever garbage company bought them out and ruined their content.
you can get some rays/volk wheels, or rpf1's, or if you want to, sparco now makes some pretty nice budget wheels. I think they're flow formed.. ff7 or something -- weigh like 11lbs for a 15x7.
somebody just did a high-end short shifter. That's a good one for this car. I've just got a buddyclub.
you can get some extra go from denso ik22 spark plugs, but once you touch plugs you're opening the door for the annoying spark plug loosening problem. 20 ftlbs, no anti-seize.
besides the above, boost or swap.
A cool budget mod for me is readjusting valves.

To paraphrase The Godfather: Leave the brakes, ditch the back seats.
Getting rid of weight (back seats, A/C, radio, spare tire) will increase your power-to-weight ratio.
