2009 Honda Fit ISO head gasket replacement guide or video
Hi guys my 09 fits taken a crap on me and is leaking oil like crazy! All over the top of my transmission. I watched a few videos and one said that its most likely the cam cover seal! Well I changed that and steal leaks. I ran the car with out the air box and watched a small stream of oil coming from under where that cam cover sets and flowed down onto the top of the transmission. Its not coming from the VVT or the oil pressure switch as there on the sides of the engine. My only conclusion is its coming from a failing head gasket. The car runs fine with no missing or signs of compression leaks or oil water mix. The car has 250k miles on it. Im going to try to do the repair my self so I was wondering if anyone here has or know where to get a good write up on a head gasket replacement or even a video maybe? Im going to drain oil on it and run my smoke machine into the drain plug hole and watch and see where the smoke comes out to make 💯 sure its the head gasket before I attempt the repair. If that's even possible with a smoke machine lol
Well did test with the smoke machine and nothing leaks out and it even builds up pressure from the pump. Im pretty sure if it was head gasket that it would be smoke coming or or even air leaking out. So I started the motor today and it started leaking right off the bat. I look and look and can't find when its coming from then cleaned it off and run the car again and its no longer leaking. I then rigged the gas pedal to run around 3krpms trying to see where the oils leaking and nothing! Only got it to dribble alittle more after the first startup. Im 1000% sure if it was a head gasket it would had been leaking oil like crazy at this point. Im going to change the vtec gasket and if that dosent work then guess I will put it in a shop 😡
this pic is where the oils leaking down onto a peice of paper. This is located above the transmission and the moter and transmission meets under where the air box sets. I got a video of it but it wouldn't let me upload here.
