Recently, I've been becoming more and more tempted to modify my daily ('10 Fit GE8 Base 5MT) just for fun, but for the most part my money goes towards normal expenses and building my project Integra. However, all 4 shocks on my Fit are in need of replacement (208k miles on the car and they're still the originals), so I plan on buying a complete set of KYB Excel-G replacement units for ~$300 when I'm able to do so.
Since I'm going to inevitably be replacing the shocks in the near future, I'm also planning on buying a set of lowering springs to make the car look more presentable and to have some fun with it. I'm normally a "function over form" person, so I considered the Swift springs that everyone on here seem to love. However, they're a little pricey and the drop just doesn't do it for me. I was thinking about pulling the trigger on some Tanabe DF210s, but I found out about RS-R Super Down SUS springs. I'm highly interested in these; made in Japan by a reputable company, supposedly designed to work with the stock/OEM style shocks, sufficent ride height for my tastes, and most importantly: I can get them for under $200! Less than both the Tanabes and Swifts. Here's a comparison pic between my stock Fit (top) and a Fit with the RS-R Super Downs installed (bottom):
Specs:
Height Drop: ~1.2" to 1.4" Front; ~1.4" to 1.6" Rear
Spring Rate: Front 2.40 kg/mm; Rear 2.25 kg/mm
The only problem is: I can't seem to find any reviews or thoughts from other people regarding these springs for the GE8 Fit. If you have experience with these springs, could you share your thoughts on them? Issues with ride quality/compatability with stock/OEM style shocks? Is cutting the bump stocks necessary? All help is appreciated!
Hate to bump an old thread but I’m also interested in these springs and having the same issue of not being able to find any reviews for the Honda Fit in general. I wanted the Eibach Pro kit but seems like they’re discontinued new and hard to find used.

I completely forgot about this thread until I saw an email notification of your post just now!
I never did give my thoughts on install and quality. Install was pretty difficult for me, only because I had to cut a threaded portion off the OEM front struts to get access to something... not sure what; maybe I had to reuse OEM stuff in the front and that was the only way I could get it out? I also had the misfortune of encountering the common issue of the driver's side axle falling out of the transmission. Definitely not fun.
As for the results? RS*R Super Downs are terrible, at least with Koni Orange shocks, but I doubt they're any better with OEM shocks. The rear is BAD. I cut the rear bump stops the recommended amount, and the shock bottoms out and SLAMS into the bumpstomp over every. single. bump. And that's for little road imperfections. As for large potholes or anything of size? It crashes so loud and hard... you might as well have no springs in the rear. It actually caused my rear third brake light lens to break and regularly causes one of my rear license plate lights to pop out. I haul my friends around every once in a while, and they hate having to sit in the back because of how rough it slams over everything. The front is nothing to write home about. Turns are inoffensive and noticeably stiffer than OEM.
Overall, lowering springs of any kind are not worth it, at least if its a similar drop as the RS*R Super Downs in the rear. I know another guy who used Tanabe DF210s with Koni Oranges and it had the same issues. Save up a little more and get decent coilovers, or maybe Swifts if you're set on just springs.
I ordered Cusco Zero-A coilovers for me GE8 a while back, but I can't install them until I have my Wedssport TC05s repaired and painted. I have them sitting in my closet, and I'm tempted to just throw them on because I'm sick of my bad ride quality.
Where did you get the info for how much to trim the bump stops?
I asked someone I knew on Instagram who had these springs paired with Tanabe DF210s. Shortly after I asked, he upgraded to coilovers, and now I know why...
Just to add, the Swifts also don’t ride well. If you want a comfortable Fit, stick to stock. Any lowered fit will be fairly rough compared to a normal car.
