Exclamation Honda fit 2017 manual?

I'm about to try the spring replacement to fix the cold start rattle.

Experience? Not much but I changed by sway bars not too long ago. But I assemble PCs and program ECUs for a living so... what could go wrong?

Looking for the manual in order to know the Torque needed for all the nuts I'm going to intervene.

Any recommendations are welcome.

GK Fit service manual is a tricky thing. Anything good is not available. You have to decide if any less good workaround would suit you. Please read throught this thread:

I used this video and did it myself last summer. Remove the airbox and unbolt the throttle body from the intake manifold. Do not disconnect coolant lines from the throttle body, then remove intake manifold and valve cover. You'll need new 1 throttle body o-ring, 4 intake port o-rings, 1 EGR port o-ring, 1 valve cover gasket, RTV or Hondabond for 4 small areas on the head where covers meet the cylinder head.

Use a short and small 1/4" drive pound-inch torque wrench for anything less than 10 lb-ft
Torque spec for valve cover is 5 lb-ft in 2 steps, tighten from inside to out
Torque spec for intake manifold is 18 lb-ft
Torque spec for throttle body is 9 lb-ft
Torque spec for the 4 VTC actuator cover bolts is 12 lb-ft

Prepare to have a pool of oil to come out of the intake manifold, it'll literally pour out, have cardboard or towels ready to catch when you tilt it a certain way. This is really caused by the PCV valve doing oil mist return. You can also clean the top of the intake valves while you have everything off, but I did this on a separate day. It's best that you replace the timing chain tensioner at the same time. I did not do so last year but did it recently as the rattle returned during some cold start-ups. I used the longer tighter spring rate spring from Spring Start.

No online manual is going to document the exact steps to vtc spring replacement, you need to piece together a bunch of information which I've already done for you. Go through the video first.

Thank you very much for all the detailed information, I think this is exactly what I needed. I will report back with results! Cheers!
