I've posted about my instrument cluster lights getting dim or going out altogether. Now that I took the dash apart to replace the $205 Start button, I thought I might as well resolder the faulty connections.
Can someone post a link to the How-To for that job?
Remove as much of the old (crack-prone) solder as you can, then replace it with leaded (60% tin/40% lead or 63/37, or 62/36/2% silver) rosin-core electronics solder. Hot desoldering tools like the Tenma 21-8240 generally get better results with less frustration, though solder braid is useful for cleanup.
