Has anybody done this? Use the sport model key for the base model.

Smile Additional Key - Non-Starting/Hide-a-key

Yesterday I was able to get Honda to cut a Non-starting/Unlock-only key. The key was only $10.00 and unlocks the door. When you try and start the car, the engine turns but never starts.

You mean, you were able to have Honda cut a key for a sport and it unlocks your car but you cannot start the car using the key. Is your car a base model?

Lock out key?

Interesting idea. With my civic I was always locking myself out. But, if you have a sport, there is almost no way to lock yourself out. You need the key to set the lock/alarm. Hmmm, how would you lock the keys in the car?

This is what happend to me... I had honda prelude and one day its battery died.. (totally dead).. i left car key in the ignition and jumped the car from other car. one of the security feature of this particular keyless entry was every time battery is jumped, it automaticaly locks itslef. lol..
Interesting right? i guess it was after market cheap ebay one..that was why..

Actualy if you leave the key in the ignition on the fit, and lock the doors, it will unlock them when you close the door. Kool little feature, its in the owners manual somewhere, i tried it and it works. So its basicly impossible to lock the keys in the car unless there not in the ignition.
