Trading in my EP3 for a fit.

So I am considering trading in my Ep for a fit because of the crazy gas prices anymore. All they seem to be doing is increasing. So I just have a few questions before I head to my local honda dealer in a few hours. What kind of gas mileage do you get? Any factory recalls? Any drawbacks?

All your questions can be answered if you do a search on the site. Many people have positive things to say about it with few complaints.

The mileage depends on how you drive. If you take it easy, you'll get great mileage (high 5s to mid 6s lt/100km). Drive it hard though, and you'll enjoy the ride but the economy suffers (7+lt/100km).

One recall on the airbags (minor, quick re-flash to fix) for Fits built pre Nov. 06. I've had two other minor (interior stuff) issues that I've needed the dealership to fix.

I've got a sport 5spd, for reference. Over 22,000km and totally love it to death. Amazing car (and I've owned enough garbage cars to know!).

damn...I wanna trade my fit for an EP3... :(

haha. funny how life is.

I get about 30mpg average btw with my Dr.Jeckle and Mr.Hyde driving style.

lows: it has very little noise reduction. you're gonna sorely miss those EP3 seats, and it's not terribly quick but!!!
Highs: it's extremely fun to toss around!, returns great mileage, has boat loads of room in the back, nice visibility, precise shifter and great spacing between pedals.
Verdict: an funky little economy car that has a few tricks up it's sleeve.

Yea, I mean the EP isn't all that quick anyway. I am not sure when the dark Grey sport Fit was built I am picking up tomorrow. I am going to be traveling around 120miles a day next semester, so I decided I need something better on gas. I was getting 220miles on a 12 gallon tank eekkk. Thanks for replying too, I just wanted to get the facts before I buy it. I made the mistake last time with the EP about the economy vtec and the horrible gas mileage. My old b18c swapped ek hatch got better then the EP too.

Oh also, what kind of warrenty does the fit have? Some lady that is selling me the car told me 100k 5 yr. I dont think that is right

I am glad I did. With the EP3 I was getting 230miles per tank (12gallons), and now I am at 270miles with a 1/4 tank left in the fit. I mean, yea I really miss it a lot, but I could not afford puttin $60-70 a week in gas in it. I already bought slips and jdm window visors for the fit, and I have a CAI on the way. I plan on gettin the wondows tinted 20% all around next wk too.

lol, I am glad with the switch, only thing i miss is the rally shifter and some torque when I need it. n/p for the rant, I feel your pain. I was hella pissed when my ep was getting 210 -220 in a 12 gallon tank. I will be posting some pics soon up in the pic section once I get some tires for the wheels

How does this sound? I traded in my EP3 for a WRX then traded the WRX for a FIT. I need the room and the good gas mileage. I was also to fit a new bedroom door in it.

The EP3 was a bit to heavy and the clutch too sensitive. If you want to drive semi aggresive the wheels spin like crazy and it got annoying. If the EP3 had four doors I probably would have kept it. The EP3 had bad gas mileage for what you got and insurance was a bit high for the performance you actually get. I hate to say it but no four cylinder civic is ever a "performance car" even the new ones. If you are going to stay Honda expect good fuel economy and reliability but don't get it for speed.

I never really had wheel spin with my ep3 haha. I think I just grew up more and I am more concerned with the ecosystem, plus could not afford gas like I was using. Plus when I graduate and get my 25k sign on bonus I am going to drop a k24 in the fit, or a k20a2 if they have came down in price within 2 yrs.
