Anyone w/ AT getting decent mileage??

greetings everyone! the wifey and i are currently debating which econo-commuter car to get. reliability and gas mileage are quite important on the priority list, so we've narrowed it down to an AT non-sport fit or an AT yaris hatch. the AT yarii people at yarisworld have consisntently been getting into the mid-30s. we're afraid of some of the mileage posts we've seen here on fitfreak. are there people out there who actually own an AT fit and are getting decent mileage well into the 30s?? we like both cars very much for quite different reasons (yaris: ridiculously small for city maneuverability, quiet interior, lockable fuel filler / fit: sporty driving dynamics, usable cargo room, standard safety features), but reliability and gas mileage will be the clinchers. any input would be greatly appreciated. been lurking for some time, and i must say most of these posts are quite informative and enjoyable. keep posting!!

I just got a new record of 46.4 hwy miles. Yes it is true. My previous best was 38.5 when I drove the car home new. I average around town 37.mpg. look at the gas milage thread to see my story near the last page posted today. I am still in shock
