USDM vs. JDM New Fit: EWWWWWW

US Honda Fit vs. Japanese Honda Fit | The Truth About Cars

I hope the front end looks less extreme than in that picture! I wonder if our current USDM Fits have such extended front ends. That photo reminds me of this funny Car and Drive "Last Page" (back when they still had them). It was a cartoon advertisement for a bolt-on sedan front end that you could attach to a minivan to make it look cooler. The USDM Fit looks like it had that done.

if you only saw only the USDM version it probably wont feel as bad as
comparing the 2 cars face to face like in that picture.

The front end on the current models I highly enjoy, but the new front end is hideous

It looks like they took an RSX front end, made it smile extra wide, then slapped it onto the Fit.

If I was considering a new 09 fit I'd need a JDM conversion STAT.

US front end is just wayyyy to long. It looks weird IMO. It will take some getting used to.

okay see i was SERIOUSLY considering getting the 09 fit when it came 2 the US.... but only if it looked exactly the same as the jdm counterpart. Now, forget it!! it's soo ugly! the car literally looks like it's been stretched an extra foot! I mean the USDM front end on my 07 isn't that bad, but this 09 front end just killed it.

The front end looks ghastly from the side. Since I am seriously considering the purchase of the 2nd generation Fit, a JDM front end conversion will be in order.

Since we're on the topic and I'm new to the Fit scene, will someone care to point out to me the differences, interior and exterior wise, between the USDM and JDM versions of the GD platform?

I bet you could get some pretty good departure angles with the rear bumpers though, for when you go off-roading.

That front looks awfully different to the JDM. I don't think I'll even bother to look at the direct front.

I always get kind of a Mini-Cooperish vibe from both the look and the driving feel of a Fit. The new USDM model doesn't really have that visual vibe, not with those huge overhangs. A body kit, rims, and a drop would make it look a LOT better but the Japanese version looks great stock.

Is that a bad thing? Cuz I actually liked the RSX.

As a general rule, never rely on "The Truth" website for anything. They're a bunch of idiots in general with no particular automotive experience, just a controversial website so people think their opinion actually means something.

Is the JDM conversion going to be possible for an average person? Look at the photo below with the areas circled. It looks like you'd need to replace the hood, fenders, side glass, headlights and other parts. Looks like a lot of work...
