i LOVE my insurance company right now. will i hate them later on?

So as some of you know, I have totaled my GD3.

I found out today that they are giving me 15,000$ for it. thats more then i can sell it for! thank God for collision. i dont know how bad my insurance rates are going to go up but we'll see once I pick up a new car.

just thought i'd share that with anyone.

Sadly your rates will probably go up, regardless of who was at fault, but if you have an otherwise clean record some companies let you go to a defensive driving school, traffic school, or something similar to bring your rates back down. I'd check; wouldn't hurt to ask.

Additionally, I know some companies knock a few dollars off if you get the anti-theft system installed in your new Fit (or whatever replacement you decide to get/got); that could offset any rate increase if you get one installed if you don't already have it.

Hope this helps. My Accord just got stolen (thus the new Fit) so I feel your pain.

yah, that is true. there's this subjective premium when it comes to insurance.
they's no real answer how they come up with some of these numbers.

take for example life insurance...
you can be super healthy like me but if you're a business guy that travels
via plane your life insurance will be higher vs someone that doesn't. i couldn't
figure it out and asked my agent and he said 'they put everything into consideration'
when they make up their premiums.

everything including some arse's thoughts about japanese folks. he's japanese,
give him a higher price. lol

Check your' policy's fine print. Your rate may not increase. For example, my car insurance company(Liberty) allows one accident w/o increasing my rate if I have been with them for 5 years or longer, and my driving record has been accident free for 5 years or longer.
