Cheap accessories
Cheap accessories
Even though my car is on a ship coming across the ocean, I've begun to accessorize it.
I bought a basic black license plate frame for ~$3.50
I looked at the Honda exhaust finisher, and when I was in Wal-Mart yesterday I noticed an exhaust tip that looks almost identical. I got it, and it was under $7.00 - I tried it out on one of my CRX's, and it fits (no pun intended) perfectly. I event went back and picked up a couple more for my CRX Si - which I recently put a new muffler on. Looks great!!!
Anyone else finding any bargains that will work?

I guess ive never really done that, looking for cheaper alternatives to factory accessories. I like to get genuine manufacturer parts for any car I have not so much of how it looks but for one the fit and finish is good and for the most part its made well. Unless the alternative is from a reputable brand that meets or exceeds the OEM version of that part, I usually wont get it.
Speaking of cheap, I'm toying around with getting trim rings & a hubcap set to use with the base 14" shiny black painted steel wheels instead of the plastic wheelcovers. I loved the styled steel wheels on my '80 Civic Wagon, but no manufacturer seems to make good looking OEM steel ones anymore, so fancying up the plain ones will have to do.
The dealer where I bought my car has a demo with Honda mag wheels and low profile tires on it. I'm not sure I liked it as they were spoked and showed far too much rather unattractive brake gear. However, the wheel covers on the standard model also reveal a lot of the tractor like black steel wheels and are, in my opinion, the only spoiler in an otherwise good looking package. I wonder if you can buy 14" solid mags that would take a regular sized tire ? I'm cheap enough to prefer low priced regular tires.
