customizing an Exhaust

hey everyone,

Was just wondering what people thought about a universal exhaust and having it customed piped so that it can be bolted it on to the car. I know people have done this with the EP3 Si exhaust. Was wondering if a universal exhaust would be just as good.

what do you think about this exhaust?

looks like the jdmcarboy exhaust. if it is...ive heard it , it sounds pretty nice on a prelude.

i too have a custom exhaust.but its just been a muffler i have been taking off all my cars to use on my next cars.

the exhaust you have...normally gives it a nice deep tone, but if its the modacar one..i have no idea.

ask mxgt89 i think he has that muffler

I had a universal muffler on my 94 Integra and to this day it still look's brand new(and has one of the deepest tone's I've heard on a Acura). The only bad thing was they had to weld the muffler on so it need's to be done by a professional and it kind of ruin's to rest of the exhaust pipe it's connected to. Just something to think about.

Thanks guys.

I was thinking about getting a universal exhaust cuz All of the axel back bolt on aren't really different in style except for the megan. However, I searched on here and saw that people used the si exhaust and other universal ones and got fabricated pipping that allowed for the universal muffler to bolt onto the car without having to chop off the stock.

I'm not a fan of that muffler, I've seen a lot of fitment issues with them, but they were all on accords. I also prefer something that bolts up so I can do it at home and not have to worry about someone doing something to my car

I disagree, you have to research before you throw money into an exhaust, but they are developed to improve power, most custom bents are just bent to resemble the stock shape and make noise

yeah there is a reason why mandrel bends are more expensive then crush bent.

crush bent doesnt flow as well. im planning on getting the 10psi supercharger so i need as much flow as possible.

thats the whole reason why people pay more for lighter, better bends for their exhaust. otherwise i could get my custom(crush bent) exhaust done for only 100 bucks. but i choose to spend the decent 235 for the mandrel stainless steal b pipe.

so you guys just chopped off your stock exhaust? I want to see someone that was able to make a axle back bolt on out of their universal exhaust. I want to still use my stock when I need to.

ID: 2.25"
OUTLET: 5"
Body Length: 14.5"
Tip Length: 7"
OVERALL: 24" L X 5.8" W

Would that type of measurement fit? Or does the the inlet has to be 2.5". Does anyone know the measurement on the stock exhaust?
