Might buy a used GD, advice wanted please!!

I found a certified used 07 sport with 27,750 miles on it.

The dealer is asking for $14,000 and I'm trying to get it for $12,000.

Here is the car fax link: CARFAX Vehicle History Report on JHMGD37617S004814

is $12,000 a good offer for this vehicle???

you can't post carfax links, as they are for pay. Either way, depends on the sport version.

If it's modded, I would say you could get less, but I'm sure there are people out there that would say you can get it as low as 10k, have you tried offering 10K for the car?

Have you gone to the dealer yet? how much are you willing to pay for it?

This is a free carfax provided by the dealer online. I just clicked it and it showed me.

It's a milano red 5 speed.

I was unaware of multiple sport models.

I'm going to the dealer today, completely stock fit, max I'll pay is $12,000. I would become the third owner of it. ThIs dealer sold it in 06 then it wad traded into them in 02/09. Sold in 02/09 to the 2nd owner and then traded back into the same dealer a few days ago. So they have made some money on this exact vehicle twice.

I really want to pay $10K but idk if that's realistic.

Offer the 10K, don't ask for 10K, offer it (since you should have your own financing..)

They will try and give you charges for other things, but the 2 versions of the sport edition are the AT and MT... (AT sport is cool)

My financing is through American Honda Financial, I got approved through Honda directly and not the dealerships.

I'm meeting with the salerep in a couple hours.

Hopefully all goes well!

I actually do not know which transmission it is. I believe it is MT, that's what I'm looking for. I don't like AT for 4cyl.

according to edmunds, the dealer could ask a little over 14k IF its a honda CERTIFIED used car.

going down to 10k may be a stretch, because even if it was your car and you traded it in, the dealer would give you about 11.5k. i say shoot for 12.5k.

I just black booked this vehicle,

2007 HONDA FIT
$8,385 - $10,790
Price accurate until: July 27, 2009

Punched in the exact information from the car.

They told me they can do $12,000 for it. Maybe I can get $11,500 =]

black book is the way to go, as its what banks go by. thats the only way to avoid negative equity on a new or used car. (or a cash down payment lol.) smart man. i would shoot for lower than 11.5 if thats the case.

No down payment for me! Not worth with a cheap car haha

Highest ill pay is $13,500 after tax and all fees!

It would be SO funny if they tell me I have to pay a destination fee!

traded once a year???? that sounds a little strange to me... what's up with that particular car? any body else get that feeling?

That's a great little car...I have that exact same (red AT Sport), but I wish I had the MT... I wonder if something is inherently wrong with that car...

although, Honda certified might outweigh my thought.

I was thinking the same thing last night!

First owner was a decent amount of time.

The 2nd owner only had it for 4 1/2 months!

I'm going to check it out like crazy, I have never purchased a used car and have been afraid of it being a used lemon..

But it is HCPO like you said

It does seem cheap for an 07 sport with 28k right??

There are a lot of people that are displeased with the fuel consumption and performance of the A/T cars and those in a position to get rid of them do so..... I have no idea why some one would want to sell a good M/T car with such low numbers on the odometer.

So I guess the 2nd owner needed cash quick and sold the fit back to the dealer.

It handled well, a few flaws though:
-Oxidation on the left headlight
-Permanent black ink on the left tail light
-Scratched lower left front bumper
-Left front brakes need replacing

Now Honda Financial is being LAME!

They lowered my allowed finance to $12k from $17k!

They also want a minimum of $2,200 down! and raised the interest rate by 2%!

It would have been less than $14,000 out the door for a 07 Sport MR with a couple accessories.

I think I'll just have to wait a little longer before I can pick up a fit =[

I hate car dealers and I fortunately wave all of the vehicles I will ever need and a credit rating that will allow me to get a lone from my bank.... If I ever want another car, It will be used and purchased from an individual...... Japanese car dealers are the absolute worst.... What you have experienced is the standard operational procedure..... Go to Edmonds.com and read the article on car salesmen and dealers.... It is a real eye opener.
