Fit Reviews on Yahoo

I was on Yahoo Autos today, and noticed quite a few negative reviews about the Fit's reliability. I don't necessarily believe them, because they were all written on the same day, probably by the same user, but I wanted to inquire with all current owners if they have noticed any problems with their Honda Fits. Yahoo seems to be notorious for people writing false reviews. Just look at the movie reviews section. The first Gigli reviewers thought it was bound for the Oscars. I cannot wait until I purchase my Vivid Blue Fit Sport Auto!

The thing about Internet opinion sites (and even message boards like this one) is that they are very susceptible to both false reviews and skew towards the extremes. Typically, people write reviews online for one of two reasons - they're either excessively happy with what they got, or excessively unhappy. Thus, it's a good idea to take these with a fairly large grain of salt. All of the reviews I've seen done by professionals indicate that the Fit is quite reliable.

I was commenting to my wife last night how there were absolutely no rattles or squeaks or anything... given that we only have 300 miles on it... but we'll see.

I have 1000 miles on my new Fit. No problems whatsoever, not even any kind of a picky problem. I am making 36.4mpg right now and it is running great.

Exclamation

The Yahoo reviews pretty much bitch about auto tranny issues - I haven't heard anything like that ANYWHERE else

It is probably a person paid by yahoo to do ad reviews so that people that like the product will do REAL reviews because they are pissed that someone bad mouthed their baby.

Wow all on the same day. Amazing for a car that most people can't get their hands on. Also Yahoo anything is really stupid.

Like most Hondas, the Fit is super solid. Even opening and closing the doors, while they are smallish, they are not flimsy. They feel just as solid as an Accord. After 3 test drives I noticed not a squeak, rattle, squak, or otherwise. We all know that in the past decade Hondas have gotten infiniately more reliable and are probably, along with Toyota, among the most reliable vehicles. I'm sure the Fit will be no different.

I completely agree, I thought maybe I was the only one who noticed about the doors opening and closing which took me by surprise as its only a $15k car. I will say though that some of the interior materials are cheap for Honda standards but I know some things had to be done that way to keep the cost of the car down.

The Fit (or as we call it the Jazz) has been around in the UK since late 2002. All the consumer surveys report that it is very reliable - that is one of the things that owners like best (90% would recomend to a friend). Most Hondas score very highly for reliability in the UK

I noticed yesterday that the number of positive FIT reviews have surged on both Yahoo and Edmunds.

Yes, I find the exs-sex-ive level is always the best level.
