I filled up the tank on my 2008 Fit MT and headed to Indianapolis yesterday via the interstate. The gas light went on at 200 miles. (The light comes up at usually 300 miles per tank.) Granted, I used the air conditioner for 1/3 of the trip and went between 70 and 80 mph during 1/3 of the trip, but to drop 100 miles? And I'd just gotten an oil and filter change.
Does this seem reasonable?

Honestly, it doesnt. Unless you were speeding and had youre AC on the whole time, and you said you didnt lol
I got a crappy tank like that ONCE cuz i drove 250 miles going 100mph the whole way with the AC on the whole time.

200 is really bad for the driving you did, I mean you only had the A/C on 1/3 of the way :\
I would wait after the next fill up to see if your still getting 200 miles, and then take it in to Honda to have them check it out.

I got 360 miles on a half tank of gas on my Altima Hybrid this weekend with the A/C and sitting in traffic for awhile besides. That was on a run to Rhode Island and back.
I wish my Fit would do something like that. My most recent city/urban driving was probably about 115 miles on a half tank. It can be disgusting.

I can't really explain my theory, but I speak from experience. I believe it has something to do with your recent oil change. Almost EVERYTIME I change my oil (even in my '02 Civic) my gas mileage goes down. Then it slowly works it's way back up. I don't know why either. I think some cars tend to run better with broken in oil.
Did you do your own oil change? Use the right viscosity? Make sure you or whoever changed your oil didn't overfill! Check your dipstick.

I have been disappointed by my mileage since getting the car. 07 Sport automatic, 42K miles. If I keep speeds under 65 mph, I can get 37 mpg. But at higher speeds, I only get 32, maybe 34. A guy in my office has an Acura TL, and gets around 32mpg highway. I like my Fit, but it is not as comfortable as a TL on the road. In city/suburban driving, I NEVER get 300 mi out of a tank. 225-250 is about it. I check my mileage with every tank, and I get 26-28 mpg normally.
Part of the problem may be that I cannot seem to find pure gasoline in my area - all the regular pumps seem to contain ethanol, which I understand will hurt mileage somewhat.
Before everyone jumps on my driving style, I can get 25-26 mpg out of a 93 Crown Victoria on the highway. I can get around 16 out of that car in town. I get 19-20 mpg in town on my 96 Odyssey (212K miles). In the Fit, I take it easy and try to keep revs under 2500. The fuel mileage and range is my only complaint with this car.

Welcome to the club of low mileage automatic GD3. Plenty of people getting low mileage (< 28 mpg), and plenty that get great mileage (> 30 mpg) - seems to be a luck of the draw. I've never broken 300 miles on a tank, ever - even 90% highway driving gave me around 280 miles, which was the highest I've ever gotten on this car (prior to FI). Don't get suckered by people telling you it's your driving style and nothing else - test it yourself and you'll see if it really is you or the car; driving style hasn't changed a thing for me and I've given up a long time ago.

Highway: always > 300 miles per tank
City: 200~250
Koi is right... I used to complain about my 26-29 mpg but then after I read thr " how to get 40+ mpg" thread I learned that it was me.. The thread said to never go over 60 mph nor exceed 2500 rpm.. something I can never do. It's hard enough staying under 3k rpm and 75-80 on the freeway. Oh well, it's a weak car, so you can't just drive it like a 200 hp Victoria.
are you sure the pump filled up your tank? did you check to see how much gas you got? if not, it's possible that it shut off too early and you didnt get as much as you think. did you notice the fuel gauge beginning to drop earlier than usual?
