New Tires bulgy

Today I bought a set of Bridgestone MY-01 Sport Touring tires for my wifes new Honda Fit from Bridgstone Thailands main dealer.

They are 195/55/R15 (85v) on 15"x5.5 mag wheels.

http://www.bridgestonetyre.com.my/at...age.aspx?pn=22 .

The problem is they look like they are bulging or sagging and under inflated, but the tire pressure is perfect.

Is this normal for this type of tire?

If the bulging that you are referring to is the tire sidewall protruding pass the rim, then that seems normal. The reason this is happening is that the inner lip of the tire that makes contact to the rim is wider than the rim itself, so it sinks the inner part of the sidewall in. If you rim was wider (say 7 or 7.5 inches) then the effect would be reversed; causing the inner section of the sidewall to expand pass the sidewall itself.

My wife even noticed that they look under inflated and too big for the wheel. Like wearing baggy pants.

that's normal for radial tires (which yours are).

OEm psi recomendations are 32 front and 32 rear.

you have different trires though. the recomended psi may be different.

i also just realized you have a 195 tire on a 5.5" rim. that will cause to bow at the sides more alos since the tire is actually a littel too wide for that rim.

Base on OEM recommendation, the front tires should be 33 PSI and the rear tires should be 32 PSI. If your car has TPMS, the recommendation is 33 PSI for all tires.

The OEM Standard tires are 175/65/15 and my new tires are 195/55/15 which according to Bridgestone are fine for a 15x5.5 wheel.

I know this is a stupid question, but should the lower 55 profile tire give a bigger tire to fender gap.

The higher the middle number the thicker the middle tire will be or taller........But a 195 tire in a 175 rim is your problem. You might also experience handling issues.

Seems normal to me. I have the same bulge even on 16" tires at the same factory-spec air pressures.
