2004/5 EP3 Civic Si 2009/10 Fit

I'm sure I'll get a biased answer here - what car is better for the daily/driver autocross and why/why not? (did a quick search, nothing came up under ep3)

Big advantage the Fit has right now is four doors.. but what else?
Definitely need a hatchback -
Both can swap K20s (presumably, for the Fit) if it ever comes to that
Si seems to sit a little lower/wider
Fit is more practical/up to date
Both of 5 speeds
etc. etc.

FA5 civic si. might as well have the best of both worlds. 4 doors and 197hp. if you want to autox and dd i would suggest the fa5.

Easy Answer: EP3

The Fit is more updated in styling but not by much as they have a very similar profile. The EP3 has the k20 already and there's not drop in solution yet for putting in a K20 although it has been done. The EP3 also has a much greater aftermarket support and I believe 5-lug wheels which opens up the options for lightweight wheels.

If you are looking to AutoX a hatch, the EP3 is your best bet. if you are looking for economy, the Fit is much better.

I always loved the EP3...would have bought one when they first came out, but they didn't start to sell until around March '02 and I was buying at the beginning of February...had no working car and could not wait that long.

But at this point in my life, I gotta have the 4 doors so I'd have to take the Fit if given a choice. Too bad the Fit doesn't have the funky center stack with shifter sticking out of the bottom of it! I always loved that.

I had an EP...I LOVED that car. I miss it and wish I still had it.

With that in mind...it had some tranny problems that made me upset so if you get one, check on that...especially a grind or notchiness from 1st to 2nd at high rpms.

I like my fit more because of the 4 doors and versatility.

If my fit had a K20a3...(yeah, even the a3), I would pick the fit everytime over the EP.

Also--the EP, I worked to get 33mpg on straight highway.
With my Fit, I'm getting 40 in mixed driving...another thing to consider.

EP3 was my first car, and it got totaled.. man i miss that stick shift, because that crap was up in the dash like Euro Rally Style.

But the stick shift in my fit is cool too.

oh yeah.. and the k20A3 sounds so much more BADASS, like even more badass then the S2000 F20 (because the K20 has that high RPM nastyness)

Vash...were you ever on ephatch.com?

I sooo soo miss my Ep...but I still love my Fit and adore the 4 doors.
If I had both, I'd be set, LOL.

I say EP3

I wanted one but dealers were not being reasonable when they came out so I got a new WRX.

That said, I kept looking at EP3s over the years and still like them very much. When I finally bought my GE8, I again looked at used EP3s but they seem to be hot theft/vandalism targets (like integras) so I passed and went with the fit. The EP3 is a totally different car.. nice motor but less economy.

Yeah ...exactly.

When I bought the EP...I was originally looking at RSX-S but found soon that it was just out of my price range. So I went to go look at the local Honda dealer and found that they were ready to DEAL on the EP. I mean... the sticker was like 20k and I got mine for 16.9OTD.

Yeah...I got a great deal and it served me well.
I miss it, like I said. She was hurt quite badly in a wreck :-(
