Streetglow... played out or still hot?

I'm thinking about picking up a Street Glow undercar neon kit in red for my CBP '10 GE8. Think it would look good or is neon played out?

I think most people use led's instead of neon now-a-days.

I don't really like either one, but if you like it...

How can something that was never all that cool be played out?

If you like it, rock the shit out of it. I've never seen it and liked it.

Def go with LEDs, brighter and last longer. I have always liked a GOOD underbody lighting install, unlike most of the Neon from back in the day where you can see tubes and crap. Depending on car color, a full LED kit in White could look really nice imo.

Only played out if you currently own every one of the TFATF movies on DVD and Blu-ray. If you wonder why this is supposed to be funny then go ahead and rock the neons....

Go for it

I say go for it. Like they said leds are gonna be the way to go. I had blue leds in my 95 two door tahoe and everyone loved them at my school. I had them inside and outside on my 04 pilot and everyone loved them. It looked good for being on a pilot but I only had them on because i worked late shifts and my ride home I encountered numerous drunk drivers and so these blue lights kept them from nailing me. Just remember that it may be illegal. I never had a problem but I know red is illegal for sure. The problem with neon is that the tubes can break, the streetglow brand though is good compared to the crappy asian knock offs. But leds are the way to go by far.

Go for it. I think undercarriage lighting is so uncommon up here, that you could probably be the first Fit with it. Just as long as the color looks good. The subtle ones look best--a soft glow.

If you've ever seen the '49 Merc from Mass with the license plate "B-BOP", then you have seen how to do it and make it look good.

Anything worth doing is worth doing right. If you like it, rock it. It's all about making it your own so if you like it who cares what anyone else thinks.

Yea, I think it can look clean...as long as it's subtle/sorta dim and not something that says "heeeeeeeeyhiiiii look at me".

Personally I'd rather mount them inside the car where they'd be more useful...like in the front and rear footwells.

Otherwise, not my thing.

Step 1: Goto Autozone and buy biggest spoiler then install.

Step 2: Replace rear lights with "EURO" style Ebay specials.

Step 3: Buy emblems for "DUB" and get spinning hubcaps.

Step 4: Install streetglow.

Step 5: Use nitrous kit while drinking Nos.

Warning

Just to warn you though with the leds, you will get "hot spots". Because the leds produce so much light they create circles of light on the ground depending on the ground clearance. Neon of course gives that soft glow because it is evenly distributed. Best thing to do is order a part of the whole kit if possible to test it out so you know what to expect. But if your putting any lights under the fit you will only be able to fit leds because there is not enough room to mount a tube safely where it is not visible to other people (i knew someone whose tube was visible and someone thought it would be funny to break it). but as with any product please make sure it is securely mounted. I had a friend with blue neon on his scion tc and while doing 85 down i-10 he heard a crash, looked in the mirror, and saw his front neon tube flying behind him rolling on the freeway. thank god it was a crappy knock off brand that wasn't expensive
