DIY 5 panel wink mirror for the GE8

finally got my wink mirror set up. hope this helps those who want one.

tools needed for this:
small flat head screwdriver
1/4" bolt x 2 with some sort of screw head(i used a robertson head)
1/4" nut x 2
drill and 1/4" drill bit
the vid is one i found on youtube, and i seen it on the forum one time too. if its someone on the forum, please let me know, i'll credit them. this is where you need the small flat.

YouTube - 2010 fit visor 2-iPhone.m4v

once the sun visors are removed, this is what your left with. the small hole is what you will be mounting the mirror to.

the washer in the pic wasn't used. i decided after dry fitting that it wasn't needed. drill out the hole in bracket closest to the angled piece and cut some of the bracket back so you can fit your finger up into the bigger hole. you'll see in the pics what i mean.

next using your finger, carefully hold the nut above the small hole, and screw the bolt into it.when you finally get the nut up in the headliner, without losing it, screw it together, and this what you end up with. i lost 2 nuts in the headliner. i'm sure i'll be heading them soon. lol

next, take the bracket that lets you angle the mirror, and bolt it in place with the bolts provided with the mirror. once you get that tightened up, put the mirror up, and your done.

if theres something that doesn't make sense, or some more detail is needed, i'm sorry. this is my 4 time now trying to post this. lol. first 3 times, i hit either back, or closed the window copy and pasting pics from one window to another. very frustrating. lol. anyways. hope you enjoyed. let me know what you think, pro's, cons, or just whatever.

looking at these pics, i just realized i need a darker interior. maybe a black headliner reline........

thanks for reading.

as asked......this is what you see when you use the mirror. starting from the 2nd mirror in, and going to the right.

i love this mirror. at night, its kinda blah. i'm not blinded, or anything like that, you just can't see like you can in the day time. its friggin awesome. i'm stopped at a red light in the middle of traffic, cars on both sides of me, and i can see what the guy to my left is doing, behind, and to my right. and i'm tinted, so no one knows i'm creeping. lmao.

also, i got the mirror from amazon.com. however, for canadians, the company that is supplying amazon with them, they do not ship to canada through amazon. i had to contact the seller directly and got them to send it to me. shipping was another 20 bucks. so 40 for the mirror to my door.
