''WHAT!" No more flat tires!!!!

They have been testing these for several years now. Resilient Tech was developing them
for the military.

Amazing new tires.
Michelin Tires. Absolutely SCARY looking. Look for 'em in August.
These tires are made in South Carolina , USA .
SEE THROUGH TIRES
Radical new tire design by Michelin.
The next generation of tires.
They had a pair at the Philadelphia car show.

Yes, those are 'spoke' like connections to the inner part of the tire from the outside tread
'wrap!' The next picture shows how odd it looks in motion.

Makes you wonder how the ride feels doesn't it?

These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.
The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these.
Just think of the impact on existing technology:
A. no more air valves...
B. no more air compressors at gas stations...
C. no more repair kits...
D. no more flats...

These are actual pictures taken at the South Carolina plant of Michelin.

with out even being able to see the pics I know exactly what tires these are. They have been talking about them for YEARS and a little bit of info seems to pop up about them every now and then

Maybe so, but this is the first time that I've seen this design. I know the military has a version of no-flat tires that was deemed to heavy and cumbersome.

It's strange though, when I look at this post the pics are there. Maybe I'm loading them wrong??

Did you mean "aren't" showing up?

Vinny, your pics aren't working, but I'm guessing you're talking about these?

Imagine cleaning those tires on a street car, those things are like extra spokes.

It could probably house 400 spiders, their webs, leaves, gum, twigs, plastic bottles, and whatever else people try to jam into it.

I don't even know if these are the tires Vinny was talking about though haha.

They still...

Put an outer layer of rubber on the tires...the ones shown were built that way to demonstrate the technology....

I thought they would be mentioning these...(Standard on upgraded Corvette for 2012)

Excellent link TunaDaMan. Not only does it show the one that I was referring to the llantas tweel in motion, but other technology's in the market as well...
