Purchased my 1st FIT!!! Good deal?!

I've researching and have been looking for a Fit for a long time now. I really wanted a newer 2012 Fit

I just purchased a 2009 Red Fit Sport (automatic) with 11,700 miles...very low miles for that year, so I didn't want to pass it up.

Outside is clean, runs great, one owner, got the car fax, etc...

Got it for $14,000...Did I get a good deal on it???

Did you look into whether the lost motion spring recall has been done?

I always figure it is a good deal if I got the car I wanted and did not spend more then I had to get it. Seems like a good price since many low mileage Fits are not much below the price of a new one. Good luck with your purchase and welcome to the forum.

I don't know if this link will work. It looks like you got it for about $1000 under retail and a little over the trade in value. Your market area can affect the purchase or trade in values.

2009 Honda Fit Hatchback 5D Sport Prices, Values & Fit Hatchback 5D Sport Price Specs | NADAguides

Although the car has low miles, it's a 4 year old car and if the previous owner did maintenance based on miles it may have been short changed on maintenance. If a car isn't driven enough in a year to require an oil change by the maintenance minder the oil change and associated maintenance should done on a yearly basis.

The car has averaged less than 3,000 miles yearly. I would be interested on how that mileage was added, many 2-3 mile runs or a few 25-50 miles runs. A few long
runs is better for the can than daily short runs, on short runs the car doesn't get fully warmed up.

Yeah, that's a good deal. I have an '09 Sport with 37K miles, and I wouldn't sell it for that.

Not too bad, but what is the KBB private party value?

I bought my 2010 sport a/t brand new for 15738 almost 3 years ago exactly.

I was gonna buy an 09 that was around $14,5K with 20k miles on it, but the 2012 was 17k, so I just went ahead and bought the new one with 4 miles on it.

Am i the only one to think these cars have the slowest depreciation or what? I made 2 payments on my 12' Fit already and my balance (put zero down) by the way, is in level with KBB values. Trippy, me likey.

We can thank the low depreciation to limited supply, reliability and the great write ups by the consumer magazines. All the reasons I brought my Fit besides the description of fun to drive.
