Fuel Burn Issues 09 Honda Fit Base Model w/ Manual Trans.

Hello guys, and maybe gals...
I'm havin' an issue with my 09 FIT.. I recently hit 91000 miles on the odometer, the only maintenance I've done was oil changes, breaks, and few weeks ago replaced the spark plugs. Anyway the car used to make about 300 to 330 miles with a full gas tank, and lately its only going for like 230-250 and I have to refuel again... It's weird, why would she burn more??? I don't get it, and I don't drive it all crazy, just nice and easy... Always with the AC on... so what could the deal be ??? Any1 got any ideas???

getting close to time for valve adjustment. Couldn't hurt.

Otherwise it's probably just a change in driving patterns.

around 100K. Some will say do it every 30K but not Honda...

It's around $300.00 if you have Honda do it. Maybe more if you DIY without the proper tools/experience.

If it started when you replaced the spark plugs, maybe the gap was wrong?

fuel filter

Anyone have a DIY for the fuel filter?

I've read the SM but I'm sure there are kinks not mentioned there.

I also agree with the previous comment about valve adjustments....if you dont feel comfortable take it to Honda (they charged me $200)

I did it myself but I didnt have angled feelers and the end result was ROUGH....then I gave my cousin the job of torquing the valve cover.....and he broke a bolt head, leading to me having it tapped. I asked if he torqued it to 17lbs, then I checked the socket and it was still at 75lb!!

Unless it throws a code for low fuel pressure, I'd leave the filter alone. It's not a maintenance item.
