engine warning hasn't reset after new part install

I have a 2007 fit Sport A/T that I received a PO847 code (which is a low pressure transmission sensor)
I found this info from the forum to be very helpful in that I bought the new part and installed it.
But now my engine warning light and flashing "D" has still not gone away. This is even after I've removed the negative on my battery and re-attached it.
Engine has not shifted to 5th gear yet
I spoke to some one at Auto zone who say's I have to drive it around for a little before the reset takes (can be up to 100 miles).

Is this true?

^^^ That is true for SOME codes (like a loose gas cap). Those codes require several "drive cycles" to set or re-set.

Have you verified that it's the same code as before?

++++++++++++++++

I DIY everything that I can, and sometimes, I make mistakes (like a connector not fully plugged in). <--- At times, I wish I employed a better mechanic, LOL.

Thanx for your input...
As to rechecking the code...
Not yet... I will try to drive by the autozone and check in the next few days. I've also ordered from Amazon.com a wifi OBD2 scanner ($17) so that I can do it myself from now on
I will repost what they find ...

If sensor is installed correctly the check engine light should disappear and the car should shift to 5th gear.

it can be up to 250 miles but from your symptoms I think thee's more to it. At minimum did you reset the codes with the OBD code reader? Then add the miles but it should be out and come back on at up to 259 miles if there is a code.

Unhappy Now engine warning says P0848

After driving around locally (now 100 aprox miles) and warning light stil on. I did take the car back to autozone. There scanner came back with a different number "P0848". So I'm not sure what's going on.
P0847=On
P0848=Off
The new part # that the dealer parts dept had was on their shelf and did not have to be ordered. However... They did give me a different part #28600-RPC-013 as oppose to -003. Their computer says that this new number supercedes the older part.

Am trying to avoid having to spend allot of money when this should be something simple to fix

My next step I believe should be to go back to the dealer parts dept with the part they gave me and tell them I think they gave me a bad part...and show them the autozone reading and see if they give me (or order from Japan) an new part .

I haven't received my obd2 reader yet so I'm at the mercy of removing the negative on the battery to reset the code

Any other suggestions or advice would be appreciated

Hi funseeker,
Did you solve your problem?... How?
I have the same code P0848 on my 08 fit sport, but I'm confused because the code says:
"Open in 3rd clutch transmission fluid pressure switch circuit or 3rd clutch transmission fluid pressure switch stuck off"

Which sensor do I need to replace?

Thanks
