new owner of a preowned fit

hi there fitfreak, i recently purchased a preowned honda fit a couple months ago as a gas save for my daily commute. i am loving the car so far, and there is one thing that i am curious about. what i am curious about is when i enter the freeway, i have to get the car to like 4-5k rpm just to get it at highway speed. and the engine gets fairly loud while doing that. is this normal for the fit?
thanks in advance

The Fit isn't exactly a speed demon, it's made for fuel economy so it doesn't have a real powerful engine. It's the sacrafice you make for 35+ mpg ;-)

Sounds about right. If you need an extra boost for merging or steep hills, turn off the AC. If you've got an auto trans, don't hesitate to use the shifter paddles, either in D or S mode.

Exactly! If you want more "pep", trade in your auto for a 5-speed, upgrade your intake/exhaust and you'll notice a bit of a difference lol
