Need advice

I just bought my 2008 Fit sport 1.5L. Its a stick shift and its only got 55k miles on it, I absolutely love the car but I have read online that that manual transmission is faster than the automatic. Has anyone ever tested this and do they know what the 0-60 is with a stick shift?

When we test-drove the Fit (new car), the 5MT felt noticeably faster than the Auto. Backing that up:

Car and Driver recorded an 8.7 0-60 MPH in their comparison test of a manual in 2007. Edmunds measured only 11.4 seconds 0 - 60 on a 2008 automatic.

It just seems so much faster than 8.7 seconds. Any advice on giving it more power without costing me an arm and a leg?

we found our manuals accelerate to 60 in about 9 seconds; manuals take 10.5. the difference is the gearing is much shorter for manuals. its why at interstate speeds the manuals are turning near 4000 rpm and the autos 3000.

Depends on how much your arm and leg cost. Anything you do will benefit greatly from a Hondata FlashPro ($695) or Ktuner ($400?). From there you can do the usual intake, header, and full exhaust for probably less than $1500. So maybe $2000USD and you'll have more power. It will still be a Fit though, so don't expect crazy numbers.
