Before I can post a WTB thread, I have to have 20 posts. So, I'm here to answer your HR-V questions. I bought the original 08 Fit Sport.

I got rid of my 08 fit about a year after I bought it, for the following reasons:

The interior was cheap
No carpet
No center armrest
Piss poor acceleration that required me to turn off the AC to get up bridges
Crummy gas mileage

I had swapped a 07 EX civic for the fit. And swapped the fit for a 2010 Civic EX-L. Little over a year later I swapped the civic for a 2010 CR-V EX-L. Kept that for a year and then moved to a 08 Odyssey EX-L. And finally, swapped the Odyssey for a 2016 HR-V EX-L Navi.

Really digging the HR-V. Great space, great 32 MPG, excellent tech including lane watch.

The only thing I dislike is the cat kill space above the tire, which is how I ended up here. If the HR-V is built on the Fit platform, I'm hoping stock Fit springs will lower the ride and close that cat kill gap. I figured I could get factory springs from someone who upgraded to aftermarket super cheap.

If the Fit was so slow...why did you replace it with something just as slow, but worse on gas?

 

I replaced it with a civic. The civic was getting 35 on the regular compared to barely 30 with the Fit, and it had faster acceleration.

The original fit engine didn't have enough power. Thus it screaming to get up a slight incline ruined the gas mileage. It would scream until I turned off the AC, which I called Turbo Mode.

The hr-v is rocking the same Civic engine. It is borderline not enough, but you don't pay in gas or noise. My CR-V was a little worse than the HR-V. It never felt enough.

 

My problem is I've been spoiled by the 39-41 MPG I've been getting with the '15 Fit. I don't think I could accept only 32 MPG any more.

 

I moved from an Odyssey that was getting 18-20. It's been a huge improvement in both convenience and money saved.

 

Anyone know if the HRV will ever be offered with stick and AWD?

I'll venture the options this year were limited to allow them to refine the production process at the mexico plant. Next year you might get that option instead of the CVT. I can tell you This is by far the best CVT I've experienced. I don't even notice it like I did with other Honda models.

 

I saw an HRV for the first time last week. I really like the looks...........a lot. If I were in the market for a new vehicle right now, and I couldn't get a Fit, I'd be very interested in the HRV. Although, like Uncle Gary said, it would be difficult to accept the drop in fuel efficiency.

 

The HRV is slower than an old Fit.

 

But it's bigger, so I expect it to be slower.

The 08 fit was tiny with horrible acceleration.

 

That makes zero sense.

At all.

You bought Honda's base econo car and expected power...complained about it.

You buy something bigger, more expensive and slower.. happy as a clam.

Ugh. America....

 

HR-v has it's plus points but I loved my 2012 Fit when I had it.
I traded it for a new 2015 CRV.
The ride - oh my god the ride is great.
I miss the Fit for everything else except the ride.
