Honda Fit vs Suzuki Swift

Some nice footage of GKs and GEs, battling Suzuki Swifts. First I've seen it, sorry if it's a repost. Those Swifts are really well tuned.

I wonder if the Spoon Fit would be more competitive if the suspension was more dialed in?

The problem is that Suzuki has abandoned the US market. I had an SX4 and it was, as I've said before, the best little car no one had ever heard of. American Suzuki just didn't know how to market them. Two recalls while I had it. The shade tree dealer applied some Lock Tite to the screws on the rear view mirrors on the first recall. The second required the designated repair center to replace the front passenger seat air bag sensor.

A little too tall, a little to heavy, but it had all the right parts (except a willing engine), 17 inch wheels/tires, really good 4 wheel disk brakes. It just wasn't "toss-able" with the automatic.

Well, good thing about living in the caribbean those Swifts are really popular around here; so are the Fits. Most of them are exported directly from Japan and they are about the same price as Fits. However, Fit RS and Fit Sport (we have both versions here in the Dominican Republic) are more expensive than the Swift Sports; this is because the Swift has a smaller interior but they look really cool.

The Fit salesman is a Jamaican of Scottish decent and owned several Suzuki's (Swifts probably) and said that he really enjoyed them. He had worked at the Caddy dealership across the street from the Honda dealership.

Seeing that the Swifts had more development time, the Fits did pretty well and on the video, sounded better. Personally I liked the wearer of the checkered flags. (:> :> dirty old man mode)
