Preventive Maintenance 50k miles on 2008 Fit
Preventive Maintenance 50k miles on 2008 Fit
Our Fit had only 12k miles when we bought it in 2012. We are now at 55k having regularly replaced the oil and filter as indicated using Mobil 1.
Except for replacement of the A/C condenser last year, and a new set of tires, our little bronze commuter sees very short daily drives, highway 55-65mph and we've done 2 long distance vacations.
1. Should I replace the CVT fluid (Honda spec of course)?
2. Should I replace spark plugs and perhaps coil packs?
3. Low front driveway scrapes have really messed up the bottom cover. Worth replacing?
Appreciate your advice.

2. Should I replace spark plugs and perhaps coil packs? {{At 80K miles.}}
3. Low front driveway scrapes have really messed up the bottom cover. Worth replacing? {{ If your like me it will just drag on something else.. }}
Appreciate your advice.

Remember that many services are due at a TIME as well as MILEAGE. (The Maintenance Minder only triggers service codes by mileage)
First of all, you are in the USA so your Fit has a traditional automatic. Still, a drain and fill with Honda DW-1 ATF is wise.
Coils and plugs? If the car is running well (no stutter or misfiring Esp. when cold), forget it.
Based on other owners findings, I'd have the valve clearances adjusted.
And, replace the brake fluid (Honda says to do this every three years regardless of mileage). Also, have the rear drum brakes adjusted (this will make your E-brake work better, too)
You should remove and inspect the engine air filter and cabin filter, too. Replace if 'yukky'. <--- technical term
+++++++++
That front spoiler lip: if you can't see the scratches, leave it alone. If it splits, well, replacement is up to you (we had to fix ours after the curbs damaged the LF corner). It's only a cosmetic issue.

Thank you Mr. Haynes. That is exactly the advice I was looking for. Now I have to see how much the Honda dealer wants for these services and compare with a local shop that has high recommendations and specializes in Hondas.
