Help! Headlight Safety Recall Repair/Fail?
HAS ANYONE HAD THIS RECALL REPAIR FAIL?:
We have a 2007 Fit with only 85,000 miles (I am the second owner). If I drive for more than 30 minutes with the low-beams on they will turn OFF!? The high-beams still work but the low-beams will stay off. Then if I turn the car off and let it sit for a while the low-beams will work again.
I brought the car to the dealer and they said that this was a safety recall and the computer said it was done already last year-in 2014. (We got the car a few months ago when we had a baby.)
I called HONDA of AMERICA and they said to have it diagnosed at the dealer and if it wasn't done--they should do it. AND if it was done and it was the same problem--they should do it under the recall anyway.
So, I had it diagnosed. They saw that the wires were re-wrapped according to the recall but they felt that it had a bad internal headlight switch. The internal headlight switch was part of the original recall but they didn't know if it was replaced or not...then they told me it would be $450 to do the work!? I told them what HONDA OF AMERICA told me and they were uninterested. I called back HOA and they told me that since the dealer said the wires were rewrapped in 2014 that satisfies the recall and they are uninterested in pursuing it further.
Can anyone tell me if they have had the same recall fail and problem with HOA?
Thanks

No suggestion what to do, but I am proud that I did not do any recalls, because the people who are working in stealerships had their hands growing from the A-hole and I would afraid to let anyone of them touch my car.
Just recalling the smog back in 2013 when the tech shifted to park when the wheels were still rolling on the treadmill.
(thankfully no metal chunks of broken gear teeth came out of tranny during ATF change)
