in fact, that's what is to be expected in the car because it doesn't have a beefy battery and alternator. the newer GEs do the same thing.

gosh, I wouldnt really be worrying too much guys. They may have had an anomoly with some parts suppliers in the 07s and 08s. So, to limit liability they issue the recall and give a general inspection and or fix for the issue. My window recall was a non starter. The dealer said that some of the plastic wrap was bad in some vehicles and warrented a change ( better tape/glue ) to hold it on better. Mine was A-ok. My headlights suck as is and im going the HID route. Though I will contact Honda to see if the harness is something I want to look at. As for the recalls. Im not that excited. To see Honda standing by the product is a good thing( just wish it wouldve been sooner) Corporate hand sitting until they cant ignore it any longer. he he. I still love my GD.

Funny, this. My 07 Sport was subjected to this problem last Spring, about 3 weeks after the warranty ended. One day the low beams just stopped working, and figuring out what was the problem was a royal pain.
The dealer ended up replacing part of the wiring with a kit that was used on an old civic. I got them to split the cost with me by arguing that there was no possible way that wiring corrosion in the stearing column was my fault or normal wear and tear. Still out ~$150, but will try to get it back from Honda now that they have declared there is a problem.

It took quite a while for the dealership to figure out what was wrong (although, it's apparently trivial to test if they go straight for the wiring bundle in the stearing column), and then a week or so to order the replacement wiring. During that time I noticed that the CD player was acting funny, trying to load a disk when there clearly wasn't one in there. Once the headlights were fixed, all was well again.
