They got me in and out for ~1/2 hr, I performed the work last week, had some cocoa and inspected the floor model CR-Z. Looked clean, but I wasn't a fan of the small rear view windows at all on it. They looked awkwardly at my keyport slide when I said to use the blue node (matched my VBP lol) xD

They claimed my PIAA Super Silicone wipers were worn out and that they wanted to replace it for ~$57 + tax. I said no thanks..what crooks they are.

Recall Problem?

Had the recall done 2 weeks ago and at 430am my low beams didnt work seems both filiments for the low beam burned out at the same time, the dealer told me that it is a coincidence and i had to purchas new bulbs, doesn't seem right to me i tested all the circuits and theres no significant voltage drops, shorts, or open circuits that i can find, has anyone else had this issue? or is it really just a coincidence?

I still haven't taken the car in for the window switch recall or this one. I am a bit hesitant because A) I haven't had any issues and B) I don't like the idea of 'dealer' techs taking the car apart to fix a problem that I don't have. I worked alongside a former dealer tech for a few years and I was shocked at the 'bang it in, bang it out' mentality that dealer techs seemed to be engrained with.

Has anyone with the "independent fog light" mod had this recall done?

Ditto on Rich's question...

My argument to the dealer is going to be that I wanted to take the load of the fog relay off the switch to prevent this after seeing the harness failures on this forum.

That is half the reason I did it, Ford had a big ol' recall in the 90's on the Escort for this exact same thing because of the foglamp load overloading the lowbeam harness that wasn't designed for it and I didn't want a repeat of history.

That warranty is up in 3 months anyways so no biggie if they get all upset. Shouldn't affect their ability to perform the recall (they splice a bigger wire onto a different wire than we tap into for the indy fogs).

I had the recall done this past Thursday. They called after ~1.5 hours and said it was ready to pick up.
It was raining when I got there (and I was rushed during lunch time) so I jumped in and headed back to work. After I parked at work I checked the steering column cover and sure enough the rear 2 tabs (on the bottom section of the cover) were broken. The tech. must have unsnapped the front two (closer to the wheel) and then hinged it upward.

I called the dealer back and let them know of the issue and he said to come back and they would "look at it".

After some time discussing things in the service bay (with the service writer and shop foreman) they went to the parts department to check to see if they had one in inventory. Come to find out they are back order (national?) and it would be a few days/weeks before it arrives.

Today it happened to me. During a long time driving I felt something like burn plastic. I turned the lights OFF and from that moment I can't turn the headlights ON. Only parking light and high beam are working...
I disconnected the connector under steering column cover and found this.
