brake light/tail light bulb

Hi All,
We have a 2007 Fit on which the combined tail light/brake light bulb has failed. The local auto parts store show that it uses a 7443. This is incorrect. They are huge by comparison with the original bulb, which has no part #. It is a dual filament baseless mini-bulb. The owners manual says it is dual 21 and 5 watt. Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance,
Dave

Check the side that still works and compare, maybe someone stuffed an incorrect bulb and/or socket in the side that doesn't work.

Honda parts catalog says bulb # 34906-ST5-003
Equivalent should be #7443

Remove your bad bulb.
Carry it into the local parts store.
Have them match it up.

Carry your bulb into your local Honda dealer and get a replacement.

7443 is the correct cross-ref.

Agree with ezone. I would buy a 2-pack of bulbs & replace both sides. Instead of showing a parts store the confusing bulb which may be the wrong one, either bring the other-side bulb in, or just buy some 7443s.

Sorry for resurrecting this thread, just wanted to add the solution I found after buying the wrong bulb twice. This thread came up when I was searching the web for my answer.

I also had my "tail light/brake light" burn out. The bulb that I needed is bulb 2825, which is the top light in the tail light assembly. (looking at the honda parts diagram for the housing, I could not find a part number, but it is labeled part 17) It is the light that only is used when you lock/unlock the car, or when you hit the brakes it lights up with the main tail light (bulb 7443). The light bulb is about 1/3 the size of the 7443.

Have a good one!
