Took the car in...

Took the car in today and told service guy about low milage and ask if he can check the computer to see if the gas/air mix is optimal and he said he doesn;t have such equipment. all he cna do is do a fuel consuption test.. which is driving it for 120 miles and then determine if it's a low milage problem. Someone has mentioned that they can test the ecu but he said there's no way to test that. he said unless u're getting half the milage epa estimate.. they won;t even look at anything regarding that issue

Talked about paint problem and he said i need to come back to talk to service manager on a weekday..

The price i was quoted for oil change was 35.99.. another dealership about 10 miles away was 29.99 but a little out of the way.. but when i got there they said it was 37.99.. not happy and probably won;t go back there.. 40 bucks for a regular oil change is high.. but false info is bad!

Oh yeah i have the windnoise and brought in a service bulletin and he said they will need to check it out to make sure there is the windnoise before doing anything.. it sounded like they didn;t want to do the least possible.. let's see how things work when i pick up my car this afternoon.. time to find a new service department..

Sounds like they're trying to brush you off. My dealer has always told me, bring it in anytime during our business hours and they will assess any issues. As for the gas test goes, I'm not sure about that.

Is there anyone here that lives near hgly ?! Someone just show him how to do the oil change already!

haha.. well no one has really confirm that they can check the ecu for air/gas %.. so i wasn't positive myself.. a lot of things are said then someone else challenges what was said.. then at the end of the day i still dunno who's right lol..

hey i will change my oil going forward.. i figured that since i needed to go in anyway.. that i would get my oil changed as well..
oh well... they said they were gonna put a sniffer on to see how much gas vapor is leaked out.... what the hell is that?

do they use honda oil filters when they change your oil at non-dealerships?

just a thought on the price difference.

well when i called the woman said 35.99.. when i got there the guy said 37.99.. i did call another place and they were like 15 miles away..
and cost 29.99.. i felt that a 6 bucks difference was not worth going out of the way...
i will change my own from now on.. i had a couple of issues i wanted them to look and and they did not do any of them... i was told to come back when manager is in.. so a waste for sure..

Changing oil on the fit is ridiculously easy....I've done cars before that took me a few hours and a lot of muscle to do....but I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was on the Fit. Takes about 25 minutes including setting up the pan and draining it and all that.

The way I see it, you spend 30 bucks at the dealer to have your oil changed. Sure, they use genuine Honda filter (FRAM!), but you end up with Dino (non synthetic) oil. For 30 bucks, you can purchase at walmart Castrol 5-20 Syntec in a 5 quart jug for $21.50. Or you can buy Mobil 1 5-20 Synthetic at $6 per quart multiply by 4 quarts for our car = $24.00. Buy yourself a decent Purolator, Wix, or Napa Gold filter for about $6.00. You're still paying less than the dealer and you get top quality filter and oil!
