Bay Area people...

So I'm just wondering how many people in the Bay Area own a Fit. If possible post a picture of your car and where you live. Post away...

I live in Fremont. The picture is taken at Lake Elizabeth, right off on Stevenson and next to the Police Station....

Hi-

I'm also a bay area Fit Freak - I love my fit, but I am having a major problem with Honda.

The airbags on Fits built before Nov. 2006 are not as save as possible (see IIHS News Release )

My dealer (Fremont Honda) is unable to do anything until they hear from Honda Corp. Honda corp isnt doing anything!

Call Honda Corp at 310-783-3163. Ask for Sage Marie and ask when Honda will fix the airbags

Guess we should rally up as many FIT owners as we can and complain and be heard for.... and have them fix what it should had been at the beginning.... just a thought..... I'll call and check too!

thanks!!

Hey LB3DR, Did you buy your Fit from Autowest Honda in Fremont?

If so call Rich Neswick (GM) @ 510-445-5300x560

or email @ newsickr@autonation.com

I spoke with him in person last night and he is well aware of this problem and today is supposed to have a meeting with his district service reps and plans to bring up this issue.

There is big power in numbers. I've been posting in as many FIT forums that I can find.

Look at Calif Civil Code 1793.2 We can request a brand new Fit if they do not repair serious safety issues within 30 days (my reading- but I am not a lawyer)

My FIT was located in San Francisco...long story short, autowest didn't have my color in April-May and would not sell for the MSRP...$15,2... something at that time... called a few places... only a few dealers were sellin for MSRP and marked up for $19K+

called livermore honda...see if they have any....? got none, told them if they could located the one in SF. i would come in the next day and buy it!! they sold it for the MSRP + destination fees for located the car...

I guess I could talk my sales rep or call the dealer.

whatever happens keep me updated please.

still getting run-a-round

They are calling it an "update" and not a "recall" but they are not yet issuing it and our heads are still at risk for unnecessary injury.

I've called them so many times that they finally assigned someone to handle my case!

Call 800-999-1099 and ask them about the Fit air bag issue! The more voices we have the louder we are.

Update on the FIT story

So American Honda FINALLY admits that there is an issue and sends on a "SAFETY IMPROVEMENT CAMPAIGN" notice. I got mine this weekend.

I contacted my dealer. made an appointment, showed up at 7:30am and was turned away because they had not yet received the materials to perform the fix.

I call American Honda's CS line and complain, they tell me that Anderson Honda in PA has the kit. I call Anderson to verify, they say "yes we have it". I make an appointment, show up, and then get turned away again because they didn't have the "stuff" needed from American Honda.

I call Oakland Honda this morning; they have not received the kit either.

Honda sure has screwed up on this safety issue.

Yes, you should get one if you ask.

I FINALLY got my SRS system reflashed. Wow this was a night mare.

You probably got the letter in the mail regarding this. Make sure you call you dealer and ask if they have ALL of the tools needed to perform the reflash - I had to call 4 dealers until I found one that can do it.

It only took a few hours
