So-Cal Canyon Cruise/Meet!

hey guys.... i was thinkin we should do a canyon cruise sometime. we don't have to speed and race through the canyons. just cruise and then after eat somewhere for lunch. i was thinking this because when i used to have my mitsibishi lancer before we would have canyon cruises from time to time. the lancer club is actually having another cruise this Jan. 26th. we can join up with them if some of you guys want and then head to the eibach meet afterwards. canyon cruises are fun especially when people video tape them. i'm not sure of a date yet, just thowing out some ideas. please comment with any suggestions!

i love bombing the 74! but there's construction on it at night right in the middle where the best lines are. other than that too much traffic during the day, well, too many slow douchebags. i actually got cited on the ortegas for goin 80. wine country in temecula is a nice scenic drive for a cruise. there's a "friendly" dirt road at the end of de portola there that goes for several miles or so. found it on accident one night. not too harsh. we should def set up a meet for bombing a mountain road! those are the only places i know, so i wouldn't mind trying some new ones you got.

snaps! that was freakin fast. i was just on there, not like over this weekend but the weekend before, when we had the crazy storms, and they were still working on it. oh, but i see what you mean... yeah, it's open there's just a stopping point where they only have one lane, so traffic always gets a little backed up cuz you can't drive through until they let the cars going the opposite direction go. it was completely closed over the summer though, that's where i think we both got a little confused. and lemme tell ya, that was a bitch having to double back to the 5 and go down to the 78 in san marcos through vista to the 15 again... come to think of it that's not too bad of a road either. not the best, but better than most.

I just did this in the middle of the day today, there was some biker meet somewhere in the middle. I'd have to say going south to north on this santiago canyon road has a better view than north to south. As for the drive, it wasn't as fun when because I was behind a bunch of cars since its one lane

Anyboyd recommend good times to go? I'm thinking early morning or midnight run?

yeah, huy and i tried to take it to get to the 15 on our way to sd last week, at around 5p. we waited in line w/o moving for 20 mins, and were still 4 miles away from the construction site by the time we moved again... LOL! so we flipped a b and made it back to the 5 in < 10!
