Remember guys, it is not a side by side race... It's a track day. So I'm guessing a Fitz Track Day will be similar to the Time Attack format(time-based).

If you have never been on track, that is fine. SpeedVentures helps out first time drivers quite a bit. SpeedVentures is the best on-track organization. First timers have their own run group (usually Yellow), and it allows a slow build up to speed, without having a 997 GT3 up on your rear.

Also, if KraftWerks goes out, I can help out with instruction. Oscar Sr. and I will also help out with car setup. Only a few simple adjustments and you can have a really good car. We enjoy helping out!

We will know if we are officially going or not in a couple weeks.

AccordGuy:
Tape your Fit up if you are concerned about rock dings, and get out there! Any other car besides a Fit or Yaris should probably sign up via speedventures.com. Dynamic would be the one to ask though.

I really want to go, so add me to the list as "pending." It's too far away for me to know for sure right now.

How much will it be? Cost is probably the deciding factor whether i'm tracking or not....

Still don't have a final price, but with this many confirmed attendees we'll probably be able to get a sizable discount. I'm actually giving them a call tonight, so wish me luck. Everyone was saying about $150 for a day so hopefully I'll be able to get a decent amount taken out of that. I'll have most of the details ironed out tonight with speedventures hopefully.

With everyone's tax return coming, plus the additional 600 dollars, I have no idea why everyone wouldn't have the money to attend.

Special pricing for FitFreaks

Today I spoke to Aaron at speedventures and the pricing I was able to get us was:

10+ individuals in a group will have free transponders ($20 value). You need this to find out your track time. We will also get free lunch and drinks, but this is part of the regular fee. Regular cost still stands at $150, but you get the transponder.

Option 2

For $3200, we can have our own sessions all day. Considering we already have 15 confirmed, and 2 pending we are not to far away from getting our own separate group. Currently with just the 15 we have confirmed, that would come to $200 a person. Obviously there are many benefits to doing this. (Any number past 22 attendees will cause the cost of the track event to drop below $150, for everyone attending.)

-In order to get option 2 going, the event coordinator requires a non-refundable deposit of $800, with a follow of up of $800 and a final payment of $1600, coming to a total of $3200.

My proposition to everyone is to find us another 5 individuals who are sure they want to attend, the car doesn't necessarily need to be a Fit or Yaris, but if they could bring one of those, then that would be much better. If we can do that, not only will we be getting free transponders, but also having the track to ourselves. Lets see what we can do to make this happen. If you guys decide that option one is the better choice, then all we need to do is sign up individually and I believe on the day of the event we will be given our transponders free of charge, when showing up as a group.

Another thing that needs to be mentioned about running separately is that we might not have the chance for all members to run with each other, as we will be split into groups based upon our experience. I was personally hoping for a Massive Fit vs. Yaris battle.

In any case the event should be fun, but if you know anyone that might be interested please PM me.

Thanks,
Tom

Lets get either 2 or 3 additional Fits involved in this track day and we'll all not only get transponders for free, but the track to ourselves and a discounted rate off the $150 rate. I know there are a few of you out there that are on the fence about this, but this might be the only chance for us to get our Fits out there and romp on Yaris alone on a track. No offense any yaris members that might be looking at this. We are so close and the event is nearly 3 months away. Please pm me if you have any additional questions. Also the car does not necessarily have to be a Fit or Yaris, but is preferred.

Our Own track

Yesterday I spoke to my main contact at Yarisworld.com, and it looks like we'll be getting our own track for the Day. Since I am trying to get the price down to well below $150 for all of us (+ free transponder), we decided we'd open this event up to everyone. Since it is our track, we will still be able to have a session with just Fits and Yarii, but there will be other cars running along with us. Please pm me if you guys are interested or know anyone that is interested. At this time we only need 4 more individuals and the price will drop below $150.

Thanks,
Tom

By the way Alredcar and Huy Please confirm with me their attendance, by pming me their/your phone numbers.

I would also like to make a note about the event, I will need to have the money collected within the next few weeks. So I have a few different possibilities that we can try.

1) If we have a meet where all the Fits and Yaris can meet up, I can discuss with everyone exactly what is happening and collect the money there, that would be easiest.

2) I can meet each of you on an individual basis to collect the money.

3) There is a possibility of getting the money for the event, advanced to us through one of the Yarisworld members (cali yaris), but it is unsure if he will be attending 100% at the moment.

4) I can also try working with one of our vendors, to get the money by credit card, although I am fairly sure that there will be a transaction fee (3%) that needs to be covered for the credit card company.

I'll pretty much leave the choice up to you guys, but I know security is an issue, so I came up with option 4 for those who might feel insecure about forking out the money for the event. Please leave some opinions or pm me about how you guys would like to pay.

I need to have the money collected within the next two weeks, because I will need to schedule with Adam at speedventures to have the track cleared for us on May 11th.

Thanks,
Tom

By the way guys,
Just out of curiosity, would anyone prefer the event be on Saturday May 11th. Although I would not be able to make it that day, if it works better for everyone else I would be willing to step down and let someone else organize the track day. The reason is a very helpful/ capable member has a schedule conflict with holding it on Mother's day and if it actually works out better for everyone else I don't mind not attending. Otherwise I won't have a problem organizing the event. Tell me what you guys think. By the way please read the previous post.

This is starting to sound like some Best Motoring ish. I can't wait! Oh and if anyone is reading this with a stock Honda Fit, YOU SHOULD GO TOO!!! All of the track days I've done have been with stock suspension and no modifications to the car, so it's possible!

Tom, you have PM.

Sorry if I threadjack a bit here, I'm working with Tom (DynamicFit) to get the Fitz Track Day up and going and we were just brainstorming and I came up with (or so I thought) the idea for a K1 Fit/Yaris meet. Do you guys think you'd want to meet up for some Karting this coming weekend? It could be Friday night, Saturday or Sunday. Let me know what you all think and I'll relay this on to Yarisworld and we can get ourselves a little Fit vs. Yaris action!

Now that I have the required number of people necessary for us to have the track to ourselves, I will need to start collecting the funds to pay Adam at speedventures to close the track down for us. Currently the price of each participant will be $150, and as stated before you guys can pay either directly to me (in cash) or I will be using a paypal account to collect the funds. If you have any questions or concerns regarding payment or the event please call me on my cell at (949)939-7995. There is a possibility of another payment option as well through one of our socal fitfreak vendors, in the works, if you guys are interested in paying with credit card through them.

Hopefully most of you on the confirmed list are keeping up with the thread, but if not, I will call to inform you of all the payment information in the next few days, if I am not contacted first.

Thanks,
Tom

Tom,
Let me know what the paypal address is, I'll put down tonight to get the show on the road!

And I finally read the whole thread and let me say - Dammit umiekun! Drive the freaking car! I did two track days on the stock tires and stock everything else! Don't be a cheerleading wussy pants and come on out to the track!

Oh and hopefully I'll be able to get Ben to send me some A & J Racing parts to show off...

I will have the paypal address up tonight, but before I do that I want to call everyone up, to verify that they will still be attending. I don't know if paypal will charge you guys to place a money into an account and have it be returned. Lemme just verify at least half of you guys are going to pay and I'll post the paypal address. I can find at least 10 more for sure people on my own so that shouldn't be a problem. I just want to verify that the Fits and Yaris will be showing up.

Thanks,
Tom
