Hello fellow SanDiegans,

On 15 north, I got a huge rock chip that started to split, and I need a new windshield. Does anyone know of a trustworthy bodyshop? I don't mean to lowball the place; I just don't want to get ripped off or get a low quality work.

I would appreciate any suggestions, or even welcome actual bodyshop affiliates with quotes.

instead of a bodyshop, you should call a windshield specialist. you don't even have to take the car to the shop. Most specialists come to you, either to your house, work place, hell, anywhere. They have fixed prices unlike bodyshops and they have competitive prices.

sorry i don't know any good places in SD. I just know a few places in Chicago.

 

i got a guy who fixed my rear door for dirt cheap. and its really good quality. i wont go to any other place. the great thing is, he does the prep stuff at his house and then brings it to his shop, so you save money on shop fees.

takes really good care of the car, boxed my car in so nobody could walk away with my car.

his name is Oscar he has worked on 2 fits so far, the other fit was a driver side door fix. the dude backed up out of his garage with his door open and it jammed upward. looks brand new from what i saw.

his paint has lifetime warranty and his shop is AAA certified located in encinitas. but you will meet him at his house in esconidido

 

you can actually see the door in my sig. its the rear door, looks like normal.

he paint matched the whole side, inside and out. and replaced the door skin which was 500 at the dealer. and out the door was 1k for labor and everything. so that was a steal. i was quoted 1700 at another shop. and he even took the little dents out from my car without me knowing. nice guy.


hes painting a couple of my buddies lips next week. a prelude and a tc. trust me this guy is legit and he does GREAT work. cruise over to his house and check out his pt cruiser, its nice for what it is.

I got in touch with Oscar and he'll be replacing my windshield tomorrow.

The whole thing was done in 30 minutes and he knew exactly what he was doing.
