I wanted something lightweight and strong. I don't want to cheap out on tripod. My friend got a $30 one and messed it up in no time. Probably no more that $150. I'm going to be using it for mostly car pics.

alright...you moving toward the right way and not getting those $10 tripod....alright for legs I would recommend gitzo, and manfrotto, or calumet.....legs are usually go between $80 to $600 then the head there are few kind out there, but the ball and 3way head are the mainly the one offer use...and they can range from $35 to $400....

^ haha peter...the tripod man. I rarely use my tripods so i just use the cheapies, but $150 will get you a good one that hopefully will last you, even if you do use it frequently and handle it somewhat roughly.

We're postponing it. I have work for a bit longer than usual and then my class starts at 2...and i know you're free at 2. So we'll just figure something else out.
You going to SD on Sunday!?

Alright sorry about that...but to where i left off is....you need to buy CF trip ( $600) and manfrotto ball head for $360!!!! hahaha j/k
But if you are looking for great price I would recommend the manfrotto 190XDB that around $100 and the ball head 486 w/ quick release that about $70 some looking around $170 +/- $10 (depending on places), but that still to much you can try this from calumet....Calumet 7100 Tripod with Three-way Quick Release Head - CK7114 - CK7114 it alright trip, it get the job done...built factor is nice too.
