Hmm my friend has windows 7 ultimate beta. Looks same as vista with just a few slight differences. But it is beta. Some of the stuff like connecting to a network etc (for the home or basic user) seems more intuitive.

Yea I'm using 7 at home on test system right now and yea I dose look like vista but so much more stable as a beta....but it will not be release till 5 more years...

Is that the official word, 5 years now? Microsoft at their developers conference a week or two ago when they released beta to developers said 7 would be launched by the end of 2009 (next year). I use vista on both my desktop and laptop (home premium 64 bit and 32 bit respectively).
Good to hear it is stable - after all i've been informed it's based off on the developed vista structure - but has improvements to adapt to different spec systems and will be easier for programmers to develop programs and improve stability.
